so far.......

My dad was ON TIME to pick Mat up (I let Mat sleep cuz I figured he'd be at least 1/2 an hour late!LOL). So I told him to talk to Joey while I got Mat up. Mat was resistant and then he heard my dad ask him if he wanted to go McD's for bfast!LOL Dad was all grumbling about Mat still sleepinga nd I told him he'd be ready in less than 10 min. Seven minutes after he heard the McD comment!LOL Treats w/gparents are nice motivators!ROTFL! I did notice it was raining and did ask dad the temp. He said 45. He was 10 degrees too high!LOL But I had Mat put on a thermal shirt, polar fleece pullover and hooded sweatshirt (it's also raining). And jean w/holes.;) My only faux paw was the shoes. I let him wear his tennis shoes and I should've put him in his thermal lined boots. Oh well. Dad wouldn't let me send any food either. I told him I hoped he had lots of money and did send Mat w/a water bottle. I also gave dad strict instructions that Mat was either back here by 2:30 OR at the dentist by 4. He also said mom wants to go out to dinner w/us after the dentist--WAHOO! NO COOKING! And we usually go to this greek place--YUMMY!

Ok, so that was some drivel, but on the way out the door (after my dad jokingly said that he was going to tell the buddy who gave him the TV of ours that went kaput last night that dad had repaired and gave to me in 1992 to back up his offer!ROTFL!) dad made a comment that one of his farming/school teacher buddies made some crack about sending out a truancy officer after Mat today. Now, the guy was joking and I know that, but I am sure some layer of him (I know him) was serious. AND IT IRKS ME!!!!!!! I said well you should've told him this is a good life skill. Dad was like I did, but you know you can't argue w/Calvin. Yes, I do know that, but I do it anyway!LOL Well then tell him they need to up the ante in school cirriculum cuz Mat had a full year of science done in FOUR MONTHS!!!!! Yes, I'm leaving out that my kid's a science freak and is just ahead in alot of areas in science, but hey, IMO that's the beauty of HSling......
