Joey, DH and the phone.....

Dh uses his laptop at home for personal stuff. No big deal. BUT he unplugs our cordless (which is also where our answering machine is) and alot of times does NOT plug it back in. Now I have gotten over the fact that he simply WILL NOT put the toaster away when he's done so every morning, I get up and slide that sucker back int he appliance garage. That doesn't really affect my life all taht much. This whole not having the main phone plugged in DOES! He shut the ringer off to the phone in our room. I'm totally fine w/that. Now add in that my dad got Mat that ridiculous Incredibles telephone and it doesn't have a regular ring. It flashes (red!ROTFL) and makes this softer noise. The boys fight over who gets to answer it (see how few phone calls we really get?). Soooooooooooo, Dh was playing online Sat before his truck pull and left his computer lines all strung out. He got home at 1AM!!!!! So he didn't clean it up. Fine. I'd have been tired then too (so do it BEFORE you leave!). I didn't sleep at all while he was gone cuz I was a wreck. He gets up Sunday to start getting ready for church and I hear Joey talking. I had shut Joey's door when putting him to bed so he wouldn't 'escape' and I figured he was in his room talking to himself since I didn't hear any other voice. But I kept hearing this funny noise. After a while Joey wonders into our bedroom so I know he's 'out'. Well then I hear the noise again and it really sounds like that phone, but I wasn't sure so I pick up the phone in our bedroom. My brother says IT"S ABOUT TIME! I've been talking to your son all morning! He said you were in the shower and that Chris was sleeping. I was thinking, Mat is really good about answering the phone and giving me messages, etc. Then he said, Joey was telling me about talking to Aunt Dama on the phone etc. And the last time I called back, Joey heard my voice and said, I don't want to talk to you anymore and hung up the phone! :shock:  :shock:  :lol:  :lol:  (this was made all the funnier cuz it was my brother he hung up on!ROTFL!!!!!!) I obviously got out of my tired fog at this point and realize that ALL the talking I'd heard all morning was my brother continually calling and Joey kept answering the phone!ROTFL!!!!!!! Cuz I was thinking when I *thought* I heard the phone before that if it's important they'll just call my cell phone. DH's vibrates and I never hear it. So after talking to my brother and get up and leave our bedroom I hear my cell phone beeping. I figured the battery was low cuz it's been a while since it was charged. NOPE! My brother had tried to call!!!!!!!!

Now, while I really found the whole thing funny, I woke up AGAIN this morning ot see the main phone UNPLUGGED!!!!!!!!!! I am NOT his mother and I refuse to run around cleaning up his messes constantly! I don't mind occasionally, but UGH! So I'm going to say something to him the next time he gets his computer out. Add in that 1/2 the time when he plugs it back in, it doesn't work cuz the wire connection is fuzzy and the phone doesn't work.

Did I mention that a couple of weeks ago he wanted to get online and I was talking to the director of hte spiritual retreat I am on and DISCONNECTED US!!!!!!!!! He was like, Oh I'm sorry. I forgot you were on the phone. WHAT?!?!?! You just saw me and you KNEW this was an important call!

I realize I"m making him out to be a jerk at this moment and that's not the case at all. I'm just frustrated w/him and he's not available for me to talk to!LOL

I can so relate. All round Good guys but the little things... Justin rolls his socks off his feet every night instead of taking them off before bed. And they are in our covers. GROSS! Or he will NOT put his sugar and creamer away or clean the spilled sugar off the counters... So small in the bucket of life but soooo annoying on a day to day basis! lol I feel for you.
