Homeschool convention

AFA the convention itself, it was good. Ohhhhhhhhhhh and I got some good validation this am! Dh has NEVER said ONE WORD positive (or negative) about HSling. It just is what it is. SO he gets this work call on the way there and I narrowed it down to one of 2 men (that go to this big company dinner I attend every year) and he said that we were going to the HS convention. Other man talks. No, it's huge. You'd really be surprized at how many ppl go. Other man talks. Well, then that was their parents fault. Other man talks. I'd put Mat in a conversation about anything w/someone of any age.

I NEARLY FELL OUT OF THE VAN!!!!!!! When he got off the phone, I found out which one (and he's a super devout Catholic and does the prayer at the meeting) and he told DH that they wanted to HS when their children were young (they have gchildren), but HSlers were 'all a bunch of freaks back then'!LOL

I also spent scads of money. I bought JOEY (yes, my preschooler!) Math u See!LOL I told myself not to obsess about money today (otherwise I count pennies and then kick myself for not buying it later!) and I bought lots of cool stuff! Mat nad Joey got IN state history lessons, and Mat got: Daily Grammar, LA, reading, bible, apologia ZooI, North America Explorer History Pockets, a character building workbook (that also needs the REGULAR BOOK! UGH!) and some odds and ends! FUN DAY!!!!

I got to meet an online friend, see some old friends and my college friend!

Ok, time for bed.;)

I actually told someone to get walmart books! lol I had my sonlight catalog at the hospital and Justins aunt wanted links and more links. I gave her a bunch and at the end said I think she would do well just to go snag a big walmart workbook. Because her son is begging her to start schooling him but she is not completely ready yet. I told her to just get one of those and let him "do school" I thought of you! And here you go getting all crazy on me! lol

Did you get to meet "the Todd Wilson" like Heather did? lol I can't help it, I just really like his books and when you find something that works you want to tell people about it yk. I wish he had his help my wife is homeschooling book on audio though. Igot it for Justin and I think besides browsing he really did not read it. He is not a reader but he is an audio book man. Perhaps I should tape myself reading it...
