Suprise suprise! We're HOME!

Yesterday started off well. I got up early and worked out and got ready for the day. We left on time for the coop and I was able to drop off the recycling and get gas (for $2.55/gal!!!! I nearly keeled over!). The coop went very well, thankfully. The children really seemed to enjoy teh stethoscope and reflex hammer. Some don't go to the doctor so this was completely new for them. (And I didn't think of that beforehand so I pray I didn't offend them!) I am so tired of fast food and really wanted to just sit and be able to talk to my mom so I suggested the local mexican place. It was nice and we did sit for about an hour. I hadn't really seen her since the mission trip even. After that we went to the grocery and Walmart (where I struck out on brown shirts) and it was well after 2 by then and DH was supposed to be taking off at 3 and I had wasn't done! We went to the bank and got all that done adn then to the bulk food store where I got my flour. It's really fine and I wanted a more course texture, but I guess I"ll have to live. I also picked up a plate of cinnamon rolls to take this weekend cuz I knew that pgSIL (where we were staying) all liked them and I thought it'd be fast so we wouldn't be late for our pic appt that morning). Mat had his head laying on the counter and I wasn't too thrilled, but it had been a long day. We got to the van and he said that his stomach hurt--it's hard to tell w/him sometimes, but he hadn't been to the bathroom and that's often a culprit. We get home and he goes straight to bed. I unpacked all the food and stuff. I hadn't bought much cuz we were going to be gone all weekend. I get Joey and I packed and called a friend about the phone conversation I had w/SIL about MIL (more on that in another post) and walked in to pack Mat and see him standing there vomitng. It was EVERYWHERE--quilt, top sheet, bottom sheet, books, kleenex box, shirt, pants, jacket (it was on the floor), etc, etc. ANd  this HUGE PUDDLE--I mean the carpet was SOAKING. I don't know if it can ever get the smell out. There was 2 loads of laundry and I used 3 towels to clean up 'the puddle'. Needless to say I was upset. He's 9.5yo there is NO REASON for that at that age. There was a trashcan 12 inches from 'the puddle'. I realized that sounds very callous, but he's vomitted enuf in the past 2 months to know the drill. I start one load of laundry and strip the bed.  DH walks in in the middle of all of this and asks whether we should go or not. I really did not think that Mat's vomiting was serious, but it's pretty imperative that we get these family pics done ASAP. So I told him that we'd just stay at a hotel (I wasn't going to infect pgSIL's house if I was wrong) and that way we could still do pics this morning and celebrate bdays. I guess he called SIL and talked to her and she booked us a room--they were running a special for that night and it was $49 for 2 queens, which I thought was pretty decent. Plus my mom had given me $100 for our mission trip (yes, it's over!LOL) and I had $80 of that (I paid her for her class from that!LOL) so we could pay for it easily. We get loaded and on the road and MIL calls all upset and tells us to stay home. My mom has had cancer twice. I know this drill very well. I understand that she CAN NOT knowingly be exposed to anything. But she's out in public and I did not feel like Mat was contagious (he was not running a fever). So we turned around and came back home, unpacked and DH unswitched his weekends off so we can do this all over again next weekend.......

After we pulled in the drive, I told DH that I was going to the crop that night. I NEEDED to get out. So imagine how suprized my friends were to see me at hte crop!ROTFL! She had mentioned on the phone that she and another lady were going or I'd have not had that crop on my radar. I got Joey's book current (so both boys are now current) and now I can start on the mission trip pics! My mom got the copies from the lady who took them all and there are 2 discs! I can't wait to see them! Now to order the album for that.........LOL

And so far this morning, I'll I have done is clean up the kitchen (I need to ask Dh what happened in there last night. There was a cheeseburger and one serving of chili so they should've just had to heat up leftovers.........) and worked out. Mat naturally feels fine.........

I'm glad you were able to get a breather by going to the crop. Sometimes we all just need to get a way for just a few hours. I'm glad he's feeling better, though.
