Thank you for your kind words about my cat situation!

I set it up for 7:30 Wednesday morning. I need to run this past DH. He's not going to be happy about having to wait to pick the cat up and what he's going to do w/teh cat until he gets home is beyond me. He might drop Mikey back off here. I can't see him riding around w/him in the truck. It's supposed to be cold,b ut still.......

I was fine until she asked for the cat's name. I was able to crack out one word answers, but I was praying I wasn't going to have ot spell it or I'd have never made it.

Hi Dana, Sorry to hear all the problems you are having with your cat. Is there a medical reason he's pee ing all over your house. Jazzy only did that when she had cystitis - bless her she tried to find newspaper wherever she could. If your town isn't friendly then that's their problem - I know what you mean - I used to live somewhere similar and it was at times depressing. Hope they'll be more friendly soon.

We had to put a cat down this fall. We had a stray that came and claimed us. The only problem was that he wouldn't let OUR cats outside ... Lucky was terrified of him. He would see her sitting in the window and start stalking her (while he was outside) and she'd fly away into another part of the house. We also knew that, because he was such a great hunter (bunnies all over the place) that he would be disasterous to any chickens we got.

We wanted to find a home for him, because he was so friendly, but no one wanted a tom. So, I talked to him, Norm talked to him, and Norm took him for a walk in the grove with his shotgun. (Now, I wouldn't recommend this for everyone .... Norm happens to be mentally strong enough to do this.) I felt bad, but it was kinder than taking him to the shelter and him waiting for his death sentence. Or even taking him to the vet ... that would have stressed him out, too, as he was friendly, but still wild.

Sometimes these things have to be done. As much as the animals are God's creatures and deserve love and respect, there is a time in everyone's life that choices have to be made like this.
