update on my pg sister

My sister got taken off of all of her antinausea meds since there are no studies after 5mo pg. So she's back to  being sick again. Nothing like she was, but still--it's no fun.;( And nothing sounds good so she has to be careful about what she eats. Her diet is very slim and it really bothers me, but I have also been in her shoes (in a different way) and I know that you just have to do the best you can and pray that the baby will be just fine.

She has had a net gain of 3 lbs so that is very good news. I only gained six w/Joey.

I've always heard not to worry about the baby in such cases. That he is going to get what he needs from the mother's blood, rest assured. It's the mother that will kind of get run down. Thank goodness for prenatal vitamins. Would you believe after 3 pregnancies I never once got sick? I am soooo thankful. I hope your sister gets over this hump so she can enjoy her pregnancy and be healthy.

Dana,
I know it sounds crazy, but when I was pregnant in Alaska, the native doctor told me to try only grape juice in the mornings...I used a frozen concentrate...but it worked...in about 2 days the nausea had stopped almost entirely if I sipped it throughout the day....it was no sugar added btw...

She can't even take prenatals!!! She can keep Flinstones down from what I understand tho.
I'll make sure and tell her about the grape juice! It can't hurt to try!

When my mum was expecting me she says she was so sick from almost the beginning right up until I was delivered. She was admitted to hospital a few days before I was born and the Matron made her eat, it was the first meal she'd had in months and the last until I was born. She was still being sick two days after eating that one dinner. Mum only really took milk the whole pregnancy and the odd small amount of food when she thought she could keep it done for a few hours. To ease your worries I weighed in at a healthy 7lbs 13ozs and that was at 3 weeks premature, and no my premature delivery had nothing to do with my mums lack of eating..
I hope she feels better soon.
