what to do with leftover bread

Around here no one (but me) will eat the heals and DH will only eat bread less than 4 days old so we have lots of bread that doesn't get used immediately. I have found a number of great things to do w/that bread! I just toss it in the freezer until I have time. It's great for making crutons (seasoned or plain)--I cut the bread frozen for nice square cubes. Bread crumbs--I toast the bread int he toaster and run it thru the food processer.

ANY type of bread works in the breakfast casseroles that require cubed bread. I have even used a package of VERY old hot dog buns that I just wanted out of the freezer!

Our dog does occasionally get to eat the bread, but for the most part, we use it in other forms.

Our goats go CRAZY over left over bread. One of them just about knocked over my dd this morning to get a stale, half-eaten blueberry muffin. Before that I usually made bread crumbs if I needed it or I just threw it away.
