quilting

Ok, I did it. I sat down adn worked out measurements for the all the quilting. Not sure i like the results!LOL It's NOT goign to be cheap! I can scan my chicken scratches for anyone who wants to see what I am talking about. I actually drew out each piece and wrote out the blocks. I need visuals!LOL

I odn't think I'm going to line my curtains. I realized I didn't in Mat's room and did in JOeys, but only cuz the nursery had balloon valences and the new valences for in there aren't lined. IT'll save me some fabric.

My quilt top is 108x114. Curtains (4) will be 53x18 and the 'door' is 35x72. I am just going to hope for enuf leftovers to make shams for right now!LOL

I am going to have to line the back of the 'door' tho and that's 2 more yd of dark green fabric.

But as it stands, I need 4 yards of lt gr, dk purple, lt pr and cream. Then I *think* 10 yd of dark green. I know I need 3yds in length for the curtains and I need 2 yd for the door, but I should have enuf leftover to make the little 3" sq from those pieces. That means I need enuf to make my big 9" squares from them and then it's what I'm using to fill in along the edges of the quilt to make it fit the back.

Sound like a plan? that's TWENTY SIX YARDS of fabric tho!!!!!!!! And if I find something at $4/yd, that's about $100. I guess that's not so bad when I think of it. I was looking in the $300 comforters the other day and still couldnt' find what I liked. At least i know I'll like this. I may be bald by the time it's done, but I"ll like it!LOL I might even have enuf fabric leftover to make a quilted turban to hide my baldness..........

Ok, next I'm going to measure the pillows and figure out what 2 shams would be. It'll be the back that will take the fabric. I should be easily able to piece the front together. I"m thinking I could make the back w/1yd tho so that's 2 more yd of dark green.

Anyone tell I'm terrified of running out of fabric?LOL
