We were up early w/Joey (as usual) on Friday--5:30 their time......... And I wanted to go to Value City since last year I was able to find Christain cards and wrapping paper 75% off. Not only were things only 50% off, but there was ONE roll that said Merry Christmas/Noel (not what I really wanted, but it will work) and one box of cards that I thought was OK (had a dove and said Peace on them). But getting there was an ordeal. MIL wanted to go and she invited NSIL, but then NSIL was taking too long and RSIL dropped her dd off cuz she and her ds had eye appts, etc, etc. NSIL wound up coming too late for MIL to go, but we never did understand that. We BOTH asked her what needed to be done for that night and she said nothing until 2 hours before supper. We left at 10:30ish their time. I was able to snag a few things for my secret sister and bought Joey a pair of jeans. I got him fives--they didnt' say slim or husky so I was certain they would fit--WRONG! They are HUGE around the waist. I'm going to wash them adn see if they shrink some. If not, I think Mat has a belt that's too small.

We got home about 12:30 and just messed the rest of the day. Christmas supper was WONDERFUL! MIL ordered a precooked prime rib, made asparagus w/hollendaise (sp?) sauce, spinach salad w/egg and bacon, baked potatoes and I can't remember the rest--SO GOOD! She almost always makes asparagus and it's so yummy! Her parents came out to eat and celebrate as well, which was nice. Then we opened gifts. Mat was having some massive issues as his lack of sleep was taking its toll. A nephew and gpa had wrapped up coal for him and he was refusing to open it (they wanted him to open it first) and he made a little scene and got sent to the bedroom. Dh got things under control and we opened gifts and it went well. Dh and I had nothing to open and I was a wee bit confused until FIL made some comment about the picnic table in the milking parlor. As it turns out, he had his carpenter friend make us a cedar picnic table!!!!!!!!!!! We so needed this! Our other one is literally dry rotted apart and crumbly and I refused to pay what Walmart was asking for their junk and had decided I was goign to ask our carpenter neighbor to decide how many organs I could sell to have him make us one--NOW I GET TO KEEP ALL MY ORGANS!LOL Plus it's in 3 pieces so Dh can move it all himself and it will be easily stored for winter!

Mat got some farm equipment, but not the pieces he wanted so he had big plans to exchange them. MIL got him that 20Q game and that's pretty fun. She got Joey electronic handheld Wheel of Fortune, but it simply aggravates me!LOL And they each got $30, which I thought was odd, but oh well.
