Friday

Friday was the big day. Picture day for the kiddoes. Then to BIL's hunting place for open fire lunch. It was another gorgeous day and appeared as if things would be MUCH better than last year. Last year it was in the 30s, we were potty training Joey, there was no heat or running water there and MIL forgot the food........we were there for 3-4 hours w/no bathrooms. Joey adn I were huddled around a heater inside the building (no wind at least) and he'd pee his pants and wouldnt' even know cuz we were so cold and then we'd have to change him.......

Soooooooo, RSIL shows up and announces that they were not going to the hunting place. I just looked at DH, like WHY CAN"T WE NOT GO TOO!!!!!!!!! I honestly wouldn't mind jsut going and looking at it, but I have no desire to spend that much time there! Altho I was telling myself that this year the weather was good and there is runnign water so things owuld be much better. And there were 11 of us going and we were trying to work out vehicles. Obviously 2 vehicles would get us there and then RSIL would leave w/her 2 so there would be 8 in a 7 passenger van in the 15-20min trip to the hunting place (the place itself is over an hour away, but we get pics done near there) and then NBIL and FIL were to show up (seperately) so there would be plenty of vehicles to get us all home. So we do pics and that went pretty well. As a matter of fact, here is the group shot:

It's so much easier now taht the children are older! And on the way out, we stopped at some stores and I got me a pair of dress boots! I'm so excited! They will allow me to wear that jean skirt in teh winter now!

Then we all pile in. DH said he'd ride int he back of the uplander. I took one look at the space adn said that there was no way he'd fit so I climbed in. I was squished in there like a bug! I did have a big cooler to sit on, but I couldn't sit up all the way cuz of how the door was made and then I started getting car sick!LOL  I had some relief as we turned at the appropriate gas station. MIL pulled in to buy water cuz they were on a boil order at the house so we couldn't fill water bottles to take. She loves city water and Dh adn I just arent' fans of it. I drink it, but I don't drink nearly enuf when we are out therea nd I know that's part of my problems.  Anyway, as we were pulling in, NSIL's phone rang and it was NBIl saying that the hunting place had been broken into and that the police were on there way adn no one could come (not that we could anyway w/as many ppl as we had in the vehicle) so they could print and track AND that he and FIL had ridden together. UH OH! No way we could make it back to the house riding like that! I'm the smallest (and only adult) that could fit in that spot and there was no way I could do that for that long. So we frantically call RSIL to see where she is and her phone was off so we left and message and headed back to the mall. There is a Wendy's nearby adn RSIL likes to eat there so we were hopeful!LOL We saw her vehicle still at the mall so I was greatly relieved. She did show up at Wendy's so we all ate there and rode home comfortably and legally. FIl stayed w/BIL to help him w/all of that stuff. They didn't get the ranger or the 4 wheeler, but they got lots of other stuff (including tools). So it was very disheartening for poor BIL.

So w/not much to do that afternoon, it was nice and relaxing! I took the boys' Tshirts to match their CHristmas pants down for RSIL to embroider the white snowflake on them--they look adorable! We had a nice supper of salad (I think!LOL) and Mat got to drive the tractor around adn the kids played outside and we just had a nice time. I was however exhausted from not having gotten much sleep so I did take my tylenol PM cuz I was VERY cranky and slept like a log (thru the dogs) all night.
