My brother's FIL's pancreatic cancer.......

My sister called on my way home and my brother's FIL is having surgery tomorrow. Something about a 'whipple' (not even sure that's spelled right) and it has to do w/bypassing the pancreas?????? No one knows much other than it's EIGHT HOURS LONG (not eve that it's a whipple surgery)! My sister and I decided taht it wasn't just to remove the tumor--no way it would take that long. Please pray for a safe surgery adn easy recovery.......

Hi Dana, I am familiar with the whipple surgery- my mom recently passed away from the same cancer, but she was not eligible for the whipple surgery. Her cancer was too advanced. There is a lot of information about it online. I hope all goes well for him, he will be in my thoughts and prayers.
