Mission Accomplished--we were a hit at the nursing home!

We're home. Another harried day, but it's over. I did indeed leave in time to go to the bulk food store. I receieved a crushing blow there--they are closing and probably w/in the next month.;( She just can't stay open w/the Amish goign to the other store.  She had some stuff marked down so I bought more than I planned on, but I realized that I needed the multigrain flour for bread bowls on Monday as well as more bagels. Then to the HS group. I had a bunch of group business to go over and a lady said she brought her puppets and that I was to be her straight man. I wasn't 'in that mode' and really didn't get it and smiled and nodded!LOL We got interrupted and I thought we'd get back to what I was to do. Instead I forget cuz the food was ready!LOL But we have TONS of field trip possibilities awaiting us and IT"S SO EXCITING!!!!! We find out next week about the theater performance of A Christmas Carol (if they are offering school matinees or not). We also have a Christmas celebration in there. Then in January we hope to tour an egg factory (poultry place) and then one other activity in the area--cheese place, a place that's the actual location of a best selling novel or a 'fun' place that's not really educational, but just to have a nice time. (See why I forgot about being used by a puppet?LOL)
The moms were really wanting to talk and I am not really in charge of melody bells, but that mom seemed to be having a rough go of things so I just did it. She seemed grateful (it's just really hectic so I don't always have time to talk!) and the kids did OK. Most of hte children in melody bells weren't there!LOL I was VERY glad I had the color coded flashcards! And JOey was a scream. I gave the smaller children the less used bells (and tried to pair them up w/an older child), but Joey does quite well so he went solo. OOOOOOHHHHHH MMMMMMMYYYYYYYY! He was just a doll and the older ladies ate him up! When it came time to hand out cookies, I felt like I was pimping him out cuz they were actually saying, if you give me a cookie then you need to give me a kiss! And he did! I dont' want to think about how sick he will be next week. And the silly goof went to these ppl TWICE!ROTFL!!!!!! They were overjoyed by all the children and really had a nice time. And hte children had such a nice time too. Now, for that puppet play. I did the bells first and after bells, she led some motion songs. After that she just said, be logic and the straight man. I was still going WHAT?!?!?!?!? Next thing I know, I'm getting tapped on the shoulder and talking to an obnoxious puppet!LOL She was really great and the residents loved it. They said I did fine, but I felt like a bumbling fool. I mean neither of us not only had NO LINES, but I didn't even know what she was going to be talking about! And I think we are doing the puppets again in January when we go back!LOL

Then off to the butcher where I got the rest of the meat. And 5 trips later, the van was unloaded and everythign is cleaned up and put away................
