The planetarium and MORE pretzel making!

The planetarium last night was so neat! Because I wasn't sure exactly where we were goign, I left early. I wasn't about to drive an hour to miss it (they shut the doors and you can not enter). So we got there about 6:45 and the doors opened at 7:10. I was also told that in order to get a 'good' seat, you needed to be there by 7:15--my goal was 7 so that we could use the bathroom, find the planetarium inside the building, etc. So I pull in the area that I was pretty sure was the parking lot that we could use and stopped. I looked up (while looking at the map) and someone was behind me so I pulled into an empty spot. I noticed the van circle around and park so I pull up to it and asked the man getting out if this was the science center, yes, and the best entrance to the planetarium, well, any should work. Yes, I figured that, but I asked for the BEST!LOL He also told me that he's the director of the planetarium (the DH to the lady who helped us w/the telescope at the astronomy club meeting). Very nice man, really--but a scientist.;) So we wonder thru the building--which was an experience in itself since Mat was trying to get a grasp on college in any way, shape, and form. And they opened the doors as we got down there and they started playing space trivia on the ceiling. OMW! I will not EVER EVER EVER wonder if Mat is up to snuff about that again! He probably got 80% right and got about 1/2 of the ones right that he guessed on by using logic!!!!!!! I was thankful for the trivia tho cuz Joey really got into it, plus it was a great way for him to practice his reading. The program started at 7:30 and it was very cool. I was surprized at what I knew about Cassini (the mission to Saturn--this was about Saturn) and Mat knew it too. Unfortunately, Joey started getting antsy about 8 and I really couldn't blame him, cooped up an hour to drive there, an hour of sitting and he was TIRED! He was starting to 'dance' and I knew that was going to be distracting (he was quiet the entire time) and we were right in front of the director!LOL I got him to sit on my lap and he was really fighting going to sleep. Part of me wanted him to sleep and part of me was thinking about the 5 flights of stairs up to the observatory that I'd have to lug him.........LOL He stayed awake and happily clamored the stairs w/us to look out the telescopes. I was very surprized at the amount of groaning aobut taking the stairs. I'll confess taht while I was not winded, my legs were showing signs of muscles that had been used for the squats and lunges done in cardio that morning (they are really showing this morning!), but I was thinking GEEZ! MOVE PPL! Alot of these kids were college students! Anyway, we got to see out the scopes and promptly left. It was crowded and Mat left his coat in the van so he was getting cold. We managed to find our way back out the building and made it home about 9:30.

And today, Joey slept way in thankfully!LOL I've got the pretzel dough rising. I decided to make a double batch and make one today to take to the truck pull and for snacks in Sunday school and make the other tomorrow for Joey's kids club. DH wants to go see my brother pull at a local (for them) pull so I guess we will. I brought up a roast and he's supposed to call at 10 to tell me what's going on. I odn't know how this runs so that's why it's not in the crock pot yet.;)

I also need to call my MIL and shower.;)

Oh I forgot the funniest part! On the way down a lady probably in her late 50s-60s was heading down the same time. Naturally Joey felt compelled to strike up a conversation w/her!LOL That's my brother Mat (who is about a flight ahead of us!LOL) and that's my mommy. Pause. So the lady looks at me and says, Hi Mommy!ROTFL!!!!!! Joey starts back in--they talked space for a bit and Joey proffered that he has his own telescope w/3 legs--she asked if he looked at the moon, etc. It was really cute. He talked the entire way down the stairs and proudly showed her how he could jump off the last step!LOL
