Civil War Days

The Civil War days were nice. A little chilly, but nothing like last year. And this year, Mat (and Joey) REALLY interacted and learned ALOT. We talked w/the surgeon (Mat asked what what almost every tool was for!LOL), the embalmer, a guy packing blanks, a Confederate soldier (Mat kept asking me questions and I finally got him to realize that he needed to ask THEM), and some others. BUt we were worn out by the battle and I wasn't putting up w/much so we left about 1/2 thru. Which was fine, we beat traffic out and got home and started supper, cut hair and now I'm ready to crawl in bed.

However once Mat started asking questions, JOEY WOULD NOT STOP! We saw Pres Lincoln and Mat just stood there and Joey says, I'm Joey and this is my brother Mat. It's really funny the way he said it. Of course, Abe was a tad hard of hearing (too many cannons he said!LOL) and thought Joey said that his name was Billy. But I kept having to put my hand over Joey's mouth!LOL Oh they talked to a lady who had a bunch of food like the soldiers would've gotten--cones of sugar, bricks of tea, cured meats, hardtac, etc. Very cool.
