What is your favorite pet?

Well I grew up on a farm. My dad worked full time at Ma Bell as well, but he dabbled in cows and then moved on to pigs--where he stayed.

I was 8 and he had a runt. Not one to let one let things go, the runts were bottle fed and being an 8yo girl, I got my heart set on it. Wasn't hard for my brother too either,b ut I'm not sure how much. Green Acres being my favorite TV show (and one of hte few I was allowed to watch), I named him Arnold. For those who don't know, pigs are VERY smart animals (ranking above dogs I believe). I dressed Arnold in doll clothes and soon he was too big to be in the house or do any of those things. So he chased cars (he was NOT penned), met me at the school bus and was essentially like a dog! He was allowed to come and go from the pens when we did. Came when you called him, etc. I liked this pig if you can't tell!LOL I'm sure the neighbors got informed so that they didnt' call saying we had pigs loose.;)

But alas, the blizzard of '79 hit here and Arnold was trying to stay alive and snuggled up w/the sows and was smashed and suffocated. As least that was the story I was told. I knew that was a bad blizzard tho. I remember that to this day (many, many years later!LOL).
