Overwhelmed

It happens like this everytime. I'm so excited about canning that I crash around noon. But today has been WONDERFUL! Dh woke me up saying "I thought you were going to start at 7?" uhhhhh, what time is it? 7:14. Ok, not too shabby!LOL I was in teh kitchen by 7:16 and moving on them. I had the first pot full at 10:30 and I jsut finished up the last stock pot AND the entire kitchen cleaned up. Mat was a fantastic help adn even has most of school done. Joey's been on his own all day!LOL But it smells so wonderful. Getting that 2nd pot to boil down will be the key.  It's not going nearly as fast as the 1st one is. Unfortunately I ruined my trivet. I'm jsut crushed as it was a Christmas present from a friend I'd never met on one of my internet boards. I'm going to find otu where she got it so I can replace it. I loved that trivet! (She also made me a really cool clock too--it's up and running;) ) And I found ONE of hte TWO bandaids left in this house and put that on my acid eaten finger and it worked great! I had very little pain at all. Even better--it was still on when I got done w/the tomatoes!LOL

The mail lady came! Why was that exciting? SHE BROUGHT MAT"S BOOKS!LOL WAHOO! Well his next year math books. And I had too many yellow tomatoes so I gave her probably 10. That's one less expense for next year.

I've done some other things too, but I'm too tired ot think of them.

I'm very grateful that it's COOL out here--as in the lower 60s. DH prefers me to can outside, but there is just no way w/the number of burners I need. So the house is COOL adn I'm boiling away!

He also called about the truck. I was doing OK w/it until he started talking financing. I'm just going to have to come to grips w/it I guess. He was going to suck the car fund dry and I asked him what would happen if hte van neede repairs? This normally wouldn't be a big deal, but w/a vehicle payment and no car fund, we'd be in trouble. So we're leaving some in there in the event (praying not) we need it. And he and my dad are going up Sunday to look (and probably buy) the truck. The guy is asking $23,200 and DH said he'd take $23K. I was like WHAT?????? I was thinking $22K AT THE MOST! Oh I don't know if I can get him down that far. This guy TOLD you there was wiggle room adn he's had it on a flooded market for almost a month. He wants it GONE. THERE IS MORE WIGGLE ROOM THAN THAT! He said he's let my dad negotiate. I said good. I didn't mean it, but we both know my dad is a most excellent negotiator. I tried backpeddling at that point and saying to have dad there and 'help'. I didn't want to hurt the poor guy's feelings.

But he's going to the bank today for the loans adn I assume that means that I'm not on the title. Oh he did get confirmation today that work is buying his truck. I hand this one over and keep taking it back. You'd think I'd learn eventually........
