Guess who is the newest astronomy club member?

Yup ME!!!!!!!LOL  They were so very helpful tonight, but the mirrors still aren't right. I couldn't get him to understand that I know NOTHING about telescopes other than basic info. So we left the scope w/them and they/he worked on it while we got the rest of the program. Then we all came back to the scopes to look at them. Mat was dissappointed that his wasn't working, but is really excited to go to the astronomy meeting. They meet the 1st Monday of every month--even on Labor Day. I told them that I probalby will not make that meeting, but he said to bring the scope back in Oct and they would set us up. Or I could set up to meet w/him some other time to do it. And we came home and saw just scads of stars and it was frustrating to know that we couldnt' set up the scope! In the city, there was just too much light pollution to see much. And they told me I needed ot call the company and get the 'kit'. My sister asked me if I wanted the $130 kit (I thought she said it was valued at $700,b ut don't hold me to that--I think that might be the total of the scope AND kit) and I said no, cuz I had no idea what i would want or need. He said that if we got that, we'd be set and not really ever need anything else. Other than a carrying case!ROTFL! I'm trying to find one online to see if I can make one. I realize the odds are slim, but I'm holding out hope. DH won't be too excited aobut the accessory kit, but oh well. ANd it was nearly midnight before we got home! LATE NIGHT!
