Saturday--another day at the state fair!

I got up and moving at 8. By 10:30, I had made and iced both cakes, made the pasta salad, the dip, cut up the watermelon and all the other things I needed to get done. The $1.50 watermelon was WONDERFUL! There is NONE left!LOL Joey's cake did not go as planned tho. I put the top cake on and it started to slide off when I put the icing on!LOL Then it just broke apart cuz it was so moist! So I wound up scraping the top cake off and was going to pitch it and DH told me to keep it. To quote him "Your brother will it."LOL  So I covered and it fixed what was left of Joey's cake. DH mowed while I did that and then we both got ready to go to the fair. I got my fair food again! And we met the boys just in time for the pedal pull. Joey had never pulled before and did awful. He realized he was the center of attention and started smiling for all the pictures and waving!ROTFL!!!!!!!!! Then he got really upset when he could not have a circle ribbon. Only the top 5 get those. I told him next time if he pedalled more and waved less that he might get one. Mat came in 2nd in his class so he was happy. And Joey didn't seem too upset that Mat got a circle ribbon and he did not. I also signed the boys up at this booth that gave them free shuttle rides and will send us fair tickets next year for free! Since DH's nephew came, we'll get 2 tickets (Joey will still be free next year)! Then we ate and promptly sat watching the horse show/judging for over 4 hours. It was 9 when we left and a long day for Joey. I'll try to post Fair pics later when I have time to upload them.

And for fun on the way to the fair, Dh asked me: Can I get a new truck? Me: You've only had that one 2.5 years (it's a '97 and he told me he'd own it for 5) H: But I found one I like better. Me: There is always going to be one that you like better. H: But this one has 4 doors and cloth seats (he knows how much I hate the leather seats we have now). Me: What color is it. H: Black Me: What year is it? H: '01 Me: How much is it? H: the price AND that he's goign to try to sell his current truck to his dept (he's the head of it so I asked if he was negotiating w/himself!LOL). I told him that if he could sell it to his work, then fine. He's not going to rest. BUT I ended the conversation w/: How long will you own THIS truck? H: a long, long time (whatever) Me: Good cuz that van is a 2000 and won't last for forever. H: Yes, I know. You'll get the next vehicle.
