What is Aldi?

I'm sorry that I led some astray, but Aldi is a chain grocery store (based in Germany, I believe), but they encompass many things I believe in. You 'rent' carts for a quarter. You get the quarter back--this ensures that the carts get put away and that means less employee time and less damage to vehicles and carts. They aren't 'fancy'. Things are set out in boxes--not stacked on shelves. There are no impulse buys, loss leaders or the like. Aldi has fed us VERY inexpensively for many years now. Our food budget was $30/wk until a couple of years ago, when Joey decided eating was a good thing and now it's $35/wk. I will have the bulk food store for some things, but I will miss having that store in that town. There is another one I can go to and as long at the dojo stays put (not likely), it's right next door so I'll go back to shopping when Mat's in karate.

We have an Aldi's here in Missouri, we shop there all the time! I love that store:0)

Our Aldi just started opening on Sundays too. I was a little confused about that but it is probably trying to compete with Super Wal-mart. I am sorry that your favorite one is closing. I had not heard of any of them closing yet. It is a shame.
