Thank you and standardized testing

Thanks to you who commented about my accident. I do appreciate them all!

I printed off the ISTEP for 3rd grade for Mat to take. Someone posted a link and the state puts the previous years' tests on there. Mat just finished 3rd grade and for kicks, I thought I'd see where he ranks. He'll HATE the writing section (big shocker),b ut the math part is a JOKE! I'm so glad to see our tax dollars hard at work......NOT! It's just plain aggravating!

We did go to library today and the boys enjoyed that. I was glad to come home. And the cool front is here so it's not murderously hot in the house. Hopefully that improves our moods. YIKES! I just remembered that Mat has baseball practice in 20 minutes! Thankfully the diamond is only 5min away! BYE!

I remember taking those tests when I was in school, they had basically just implemented them when I was in elementary. They were such a waste of time! I couldn't wait to see what my score was though, even in the third grade I was worried about that. Our local middle and high school now have classes available to teach the kids how to pass the ISTEP, so the kid can graduate and the school can receive more tax money. I bet it is interesting to see what is asked on the exam though.
