Farmer's Market

And I made all of my doughs. I need to measure my totals better, but I think I used about $7 in flour. Not sure about the rest, but I'd say that was my biggest expense. So if I have $10 in 2 loaves of bread, a dozen bagels and 2 pizza crusts (these are 7 grain) and I sell the bread for $2.50/loaf ($5), $1/bagel ($12) and I"m not sure what to charge for the pizza crusts. I could not find ready made crusts for sale. So I"m leaning towards $4/crust. That would give me $15 profit. I just want to recoup my gas ($10) and inital $10 investment. Obviously that won't happen the 1st time, but I'm thinking by week 3, I should be seeing something. Mat's going to sell his radishes this week and I've got to get rhubarb ready to go.

I went in w/my mom and sister so there will be lots to sell!

7-grain homemade pizza crust

I don't know what state you're in, but something like that should still pull in more than $4. People who want to eat GOOD food will pay a premium price for it- and all the more if it's something most people won't work so hard for- like a pizza crust, so they should pay for the time & work as well!
Please don't short-sale yourself on those- the idea is also unique so you're not going to have competition...
If I saw them at our Farmers' Market, they'd go for at least $6 for a 12" crust! (You might want to grab a few toppings to sell alongside, like fresh basil).
Make your profit- you deserve it and folks expect you to expect to, if you know what I mean!
(Farmer's Market doesn't mean 'cheaper' than the store, it means BETTER THAN!)
Good luck!

Thank you!

For the feedback! My sister found some prices at the store and I did put my bread at $3/loaf. I went ahead w/$4/crust for the pizza. I'll see how that does and adjust from there. This is the 1st time ever for this market and I didn't want to make a bunch and have to bring it home if no one showed!
