ANother mad running day here. We made it to one library to get my card barcoded (state thing). I did happen to ask the lady if she knew of a thrift store other than Goodwill (Sorry, just not a fan). Sure enuf, basically right across the street is one! AND I found Mat camo pants (he needed something to get trashed paintballing at church camp) and Wed happens to be spin the wheel and get % off so I walked out w/2 pair of pants (JOey wanted some camos and they had his size) for $2.40!!!! Then we go to the other branch cuz that's where the playaways are. WRONG! So BACK across town the 1st library (thanked the lady who told me) and check out and set off hte alarm. HUH? Go back and you aren't supposed to take the plastic cases. Really? Cuz the other library let me. So while they were bad-mouthing the other branch (I bit my tongue HARD since it was THEIR branch who told me that most of the playaways were at hte other branch to begin with!), I asked if I needed to bring in the one we already got.  Yes. SHeesh! All of that for some free stuff!LOL I supposedly can now d/l books on my MP3 tho so as long as that works, I'm going to get over this entire fiasco.

Then to Rally's for their .69 hotdogs/cheeseburgers/shakes. Then to the free math program. I managed to get a Wii charger for $16 (and I fixed the Wii this am!!!!!!!!!) so those are charging and I get my rechargable batteries back! I also wondered thru Target since I had time to kill. Found a cute top that will match those orange wedges I had to buy for the Father's Day speech (Hopefully DH doesn't catch on to this!LOL). Next week, I'm goign to TJ Maxx.

I picked the boys up adn off to the cultural center w/the free passes from the library. They had a cool animal exhibit and still had the canning one that I love. I totally forgot to get our probiotics, but oh well. We get home, unload, reload f0r baseball and soccer and headout. I drop Joey off and get about 1/2 way to tennis when the instructor called to cancel. I was a bit torqued cuz the weather is SO NICE and we'll reschedule is wretched heat. Plus I had to go to town anyway to return the cultural passes and get a book on reserve. So back to get JOey and DH had made the taco meat so we did get to eat.

Now I get to pick up stuff and get ready to mop and vacuum and do all the laundry, get my goat share, and pack to leave tomorrow night.

I'm tired just thinking of all of this........

yardwork.......

01:31, 2009-Jun-29 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link
Since Joey was sleeping, I decided to be lazy, too. Of course skipping the 30 min 8am workout, means doing the hour long 9am so I'm not sure how lazy that is.......LOL But I started laundry, did that workout and Joey stumbled down at almost 10. I made a call after that workout, got out bfasts and we started trimming hedges. I realized that if I did all my yardwork today, then I'd have hte next 2 weeks off. So I weeded around the house and pool all while doing 4 loads of laundry. I finally got to sit down about 1:30. But everyone has clean sheets, towels and clothes and the yard is somewhat decent. Now I can catch up online until mom calls for me to pick up Mat.

a trip to clean up the river!

06:24, 2009-Jun-28 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link
We survived the river. It was actually pretty fun. The kids all got kayaks, which wound up being great cuz they could get in places that the canoes could not. We collected a whole plethora of junk from the rive. We dropped in about 11:30 and got out about 3:30. Then we set up camp and Mat stayed w/the youth until they left that night. Last night was not pretty, but we are in our own beds tonight so that will make up for that. It was VERY nice weather wise at least. We got things under control and went geocaching. We found 5 of hte 6 that we tried for. I thought that was incredible given that the trees really block GPS signals (making much more guess work), I had a borderline migraine, Joey and I were the only ones who had read the clues and that was 2-3 days ago, this isn't really DH's 'bag' and Mat was cranky!ROTFL!!!!!!!!! So then we met my family for lunch and went back to their house to get stuff out for the parade and came home. I'm doing river clothes and sheets cuz they STANK (well the clothes did--I just want the sheets back in the popup!LOL).

A tribute to my dad..

06:01, 2009-Jun-21 .. Posted in Gods blessings .. 1 comments .. Link

I was asked to talk about my dad at church today and this is basically what I said:

As most of you know, I am Dana and my dad is Danny. Growing up we thought he was the smartest, bravest, nicest dad there could be! He showed us by living this out.

His kindness and compassion were shown by the many things we saw him do for others. He's gone on many mission trips--local and abroad. He even went on many of these trips with his family--including his wife, all of his children, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law and even some of his grandchildren. He's always been ready to lend a helping hand and give ppl the clothes off his back. And on the days that he dresses himself, we really wish he would. There truly is a market for garanimals for adults.

Excluding his dog Caleb (a dog truly like his owner), he doesn't really extend this kindess to animals tho. I'm sure the mice that he and his buddies attached to rockets and shot off were not happy. What he did to his barn cats growing up makes me cringe. He could chase a snake w/a lawnmower w/the best of them. However the snakes exacted revenge one time when dad decided to couple his love of canoeing w/wanting to help the boy scouts clean up the river. A snake fell out of a tree into my dad's canoe. My dad is not a fan of snakes and did not take kindly to this invasion. We couldn't believe that he didn't jump out of the boat!

He is a great story teller. One of our favorites was about the woofenwafus. My mental image of it is slightly different than others, but it was sort of a greenish looking small animal w/huge ears. It lived in the woods behind us and when we would hear the trunk squeak while going over railroad tracks, dad always told us that meant the woofenwafus had gone for a ride w/us! The woofenwafus could do amazing things according to my dad.

And for the longest time, we thought my dad's idea of a good time was to pick rocks from fields or to walk them and hack down giant weeds. There was the one time that we went to a local festival and were allowed to ride a ride. I was the one elected to fish the car keys out from under the ride when all of dad's pockets were emptied going upside down.

Dad was also very intelligent. We sometimes question that, but......... While attending high school, he came up w/a math formula that his teachers could not find a flaw with. So they sumbitted it to Purdue, where they did disprove it. I'm certain tho that if he'd gone to (our hometown school), it would've never had to be sent to Purdue.

And of course, our dad was brave. Being a telephone repair man might not sound like a dangerous job, but it was. He had to deal w/dogs, stinging insects, domestic disputes (that sometimes included gunfire), and even having to once retrieve his screwdriver from an alligator. He's also an air force veteran. One of our yearly visits was to the Air Force museum in Dayton. He really knew how to do up Spring Break. However his air force experience did not prepare him for the aerial assault that he endured one day. The aeronautical tactics were like nothing he'd ever seen before. The trees left little in the way of cover and the terrain was horribly rocky. He said that he would get a few feet, fall, flail to fend off his attacker, manage to regain his footing, only to make it a few feet and repeat the process. He managed to knock his attacker down and thought he was in the clear, when it regained consciousness. The battle raged for 10-15 minutes. He was very bloody and beat up looking by the time it was over. When we saw him, we couldn't believe it. (pause) Now normally a trip from the barn to the house isn't nearly that harrowing, but dad isn't normally being chased by a bumble bee! However, like any good story, it's the twist at the end that you don't see coming--neither did my dad or the bee!

We've learned many lessons from our dad. Most of them good. But we knew that God gave us the perfect dad for us.

(The twist at the end is that while he was flailing around on the ground trying to fend off the bee, his boot flew off and killed it!!!!! I mean what are the odds?????LOL)

nice Saturday

08:32, 2009-Jun-20 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

Nice day here. We slept in!!!!!!!!!!! What a concept!LOL Got up and moving nad worked out. Dh took Joey to the office (Dh was printing those pop can labels for our parade) and I took Mat to hte bank to cash his paycheck. We met up in town and had lunch and then went bowling. I think that's a record--the boys and I bowling 5 times this week!LOL Then eventually wound up back home. The boys swam and I labelled 4 cases of pop. I've got the jeep packed for tomorrow except for the 16lbs of hamburger that I browned for my sister. I also cut Dh and JOey's hair. DH is now at a truck pull. I'd love to know HOW on Mother's Day weekend, I suffered thru a pull and yet on Father's Day weekend he GETS to go?!??!

Speaking of, we actually finally got out of bed cuz the phone rang. The boy scout leader called wanting us to chaperone a canoe trip (to clean the river) next weekend! We had planned on going camping anyway (as I pointed out to a less than enthusiastic DH!LOL) and now it's free!LOL They must be pretty desperate cuz he even (w/o prompting) told DH that they will work around our schedule! Mat's done this before w/my dad and I know Joey would love it and they invited all of us. So I need to convince DH to call him back and tell him yes. The upside is that we'll be camping close to home so we can probably do some geocaching and see my family.;)

more errands

02:08, 2009-Jun-16 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

Geesh! Another L-O-N-G day and they aren't goign to stop soon!;( I got up at 6:30 to start laundry, worked out, showered, hung up said laundry, got Joey up and fed and left for swim lessons. Joey didn't get lost in the locker room today and have to have another dad find thim (in his defense, we've never been there before!LOL) I nearly fell asleep during lessons, then went to get my brows waxed (I probably COULD have slept thru that!). I didn't see who was next to us, but I guess she did my pedi last time cuz she asked how our vacation went. I couldn't get Joey to BE QUIET about it!LOL Then to bowling. Yesterday we bowled next to an early teen (w/Down's) and her dad. Today she came in w/her mom--the boys' ped!!! So it was kind of funny. Joey smashed his fingers in between the 2 bowling balls and I asked if I should take him over to see the ped. He rolled his eyes at me!LOL They were in the lane right next to us again. Also, the alley had Bob Evans certificates for free kid's meals--no strings attached! This is Mat's favorite place in the whole wide world to eat (next to Arby's) so I grabbed 4. We can eat there tomorrow and then again next week.

After that, we went to Steak'n'Shake. I haven't eaten there in 100 years and thought I might scope it out since the bottomless pit wasn't with us. That was tasty and my meal was only 500 calories. Not really healthy, but not overly indulgent caloriewise (we didn't get drinks or shakes or anything). And they have shakesa nd smoothies 50% off 2-4 everyday! So that would be a fun treat for the boys when we are in town one afternoon.

Then to Walmart for a few things. I found ribbed tanks for $4, but there were almost none left! I did get dark brown and white. Then I saw, in the athletic section, more that were only $5. But they have a white piece (to make it look layered) so I got an orange one. These will all mix'n'match and I have plenty of shoes to go w/them. Especially after I get those chocolate brown sketchers (sp??) flip flops tomorrow. ;) I need some to replace my current ones cuz they are falling apart and I have leftover birthday money (it's in October).

Then we raced home cuz it was sprinkling to get the clothes off the line.

So I'm waiting for my mom to call about getting Mat and then off to baseball and tennis......

neglectful....

06:18, 2009-Jun-14 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

UGH! I've just not been able to get into blogging since vacation!

Yesterday was my niece's bday. What fun! It was perfect weather and great company! We also stuffed our faces!LOL

And speakign of bdays, Joey's still insisting on a President's Day bday.......I told my sister about using money and she asked if that's what we'd be handing out as party favors!ROTFL!!!!!

AFter the party, Joey decided to spend the night w/grammy and pappaw. Today we traded off after church. They did have a new program at the 2nd service for 4yo-4th in a tent outside. Not sure how that works in inclement weather, but........ Joey loved it. Of course they served hotdogs and chips so what's not for him to love?LOL Then to taco bell (yes he ate AGAIN!). Mat's bushed and I forewarned mom so hopefully he gets to sleep early tonight.

Meanwhile, Dh, Joey and I stopped off at Walmart and returned DH's headphones taht didn't work and got Dh some stuff for the office. We couldn't find our GPS unit and hunted EVERYWHERE. DH actually napped (a true rarity for him) and I weeded the onions and asparagus. I also braved under Mat's bed and found "Pigman & Me". Amoung other library books.

Dh is out doing who knows what now. I'm in no mood to make supper, but I suppose I must. Tomorrow will be a fairly lowkey day. Joey's got swim lessons and then bowling and then shoe shopping (For me!). I need to laundry and I"m not sure how that's going to fit in.......

too tired to blog...

12:15, 2009-Jun-10 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

I got about 11 hours of sleep last night. Sheer bliss........Especially after how long yesterday seemed! Bowling, Walmart (which was jsut short of a fiasco), Silly Safari at the library, grocery, pet store and health food store. God totally blessed me there tho. We are nearly out of grapefruit seed extract pills (still have liquid left much to everyone's chagrin) and they STILL didn't have any. I was really fretty and offered up what I thought was a useless prayer cuz we seriously had like 6 pills left and the 4 of us take them 3x/day. So the guy went to talk to the guy who orders (whom I've never seen or heard of before) and while standing there staring at hte blank spot on the shelf (it's on the very end of the shelf butted up to an end cap), I looked down and saw a bottle down along the side on the bottom. I realized it was the same shape as the GFS and low and behold if it wasn't a bottle when I retrieved it!!!!!!!!! I showed it to the guy and he said that they needed a $150 order from them and I said that if he could have it in next week, I'd be buying 3 bottles (all that we'll need) and he said that would be fine!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD! Otherwise I have to drive an hour to another town that we really don't frequent to buy it! So then we whip thru McD's for a 'snack' for the boys cuz I've got to have Joey ready for his game and dumped off at 5:15 and Mat 25 min away for tennis lessons at 5:30 (yes, we were late). I wanted us to eat dinner as a family since it was DH's bday so that meant about 7:45, we'd get to eat. A guy who works for the same company was there w/his wife and children (they have 3 it turns out!LOL) and he was talking to one of DH's employees who's son was playing ball there. The employee either didn't see me or just didn't want to chat (I don't think he's an overly talkative guy, which suits DH quite well!LOL) and I'm not sure that the other guy would even know who I am. I'm pretty sure we shared a Christmas dinner once tho!LOL There were 7 signed up for lessons, one is an 8yo girl and the instructor (I couldn't even figure out WHO was the instructor!) spent quite a bit of time w/her. Mat was playing 'mini tennis' w/some boy who was probalby 13-14 and then the other 4 spent hte entire night doing doubles. I guess this did NOT sit well w/Dave's wife cuz I heard her talking to the instuctor afterwards. He had already apologized to the group saying that the 8yo kind of altered his plans and he was very sorry that he hadn't spent time w/them, but that would change next time. Turns out that Dave has three children signed up cuz I heard her say that she spent $120 and was driving from Lynn (I had to chuckle cuz it's like 10, maybe 15 min away......LOL). However, he should now realize that they are half the class!!!! SO I'm curious to see how the next lesson goes.;) He did give htem a questionaire to fill out so that will help too.

So we get back from all of that and I made stir fry, despite the groans. I needed quick and easy and even bought (gasp) pre grilled, sliced chicken to dump in w/the 'dump and cook' stir fry veggies. I got supper all cleaned up and crawled into bed. The boys were outside messing aroudn w/DH and I have no idea when anyone went to bed.

Amoung my spending was my trying to get an aerobic step. It's the only piece of equipment that I've not gotten (cuz it's never been on clearance!LOL). So a walmart back home had them for $18. But the jeep was full and I figured I'd just get it taht night at the local one. They were $30 at the local one and wouldn't price match another walmart! My mom was out of towna dn my sister wasn't going. Fine. Yesterday at yet another walmart, they were $20 so I decided that was going to be as good as it got. They were originally $35 so it was still much cheaper than full price (or even $30). I"m hoping this might help me loose at least part of hte 10 lbs I'd like to see go.

And we got DH earbuds for his motoQ (motorola version of hte blackberry). That was not smooth as i was in a hurry and they were on the $10 rack and rang up for $25. The CSM had to check and said that they really were $25 and showed me the $10 ones and said that they'd work for DH's phone (he used to be in electronics). Meanwhile, the conveyor belt had eaten one of the envies for the bday cards. I told the cashier that i did not have time to get another one and we weren't mailing them so I really didn't care. Dh did appreciate the cards, however, it very plainly says ont he back of hte earbuds that the on/off switch is NOT compatible w/motorola!!!!!!! I tried..........

errand day...

06:41, 2009-Jun-4 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

They are always long days for me. We got our stuff done here and left about noon. We got Joey signed up for swim lessons, got an ice brownie capp from Tim Horton's (YUMMY!),was dissappointed at Kohls, tried to find a cache which resulted in Mat and I being in an argument, got Mat's tennis racket at Walmart (for under $11 which I was THRILLED about!), bowled (Mat was still holding a grudge and refused to bowl the 2nd game--fine w/me cuz it ended sooner!LOL), ran into some HS friends bowling who told me about 50% off appetizers at a restaurant from 3-5, got the gift card for horseman for taking care of them while on vacation, got flowers for my pots, saw said HS friend leaving restaurant and we had a cache right behind there so we called her. We pulled in and another vehicle was there and I just figured they were cachers too and it turns out it was the cache owner! Which I thought was SUPER cool! She told us where the cache we missed was (drastically improving Mat's mood) and HS mom and I agreed to try this again (she has 4 younger ones so I want to hunt in the park and not in parking lots and along roads for safety's sake). Then to restaurant where we had 10 min to spare in getting our cheap supper ($10 for the 3 of us--not too shabby IMO). Then to get crickets and to the health food store. I was finally done. I looked over my list and saw that I missed getting chocolate chips, but they weren't a need. I just know I"m out. I have 1029384710293847 bags of flavored chips but no plain chocolate!LOL I head to get diesel and pull in to find both pumps full. I was getting stared at and I knew they were wondering what I was doing and sure enuf the one guy left and I whip around to the spot and the other guy says, "Does that really run on diesel?" Instead of a smart reply along the lines of, "No, but I thought it'd be fun to wait for a pump and try it anyway....." I said, yes. Him: How's the mileage? Me: Oh not too shabby--it gets 28 on the highway. A FedEx truck pulled up behind me about that time and I took advantage and found something to do.

So over 6 hours later, we are home, Mat's taken care of the animals and the boys are outside riding bikes........

We're back!!!!

06:45, 2009-Jun-1 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

Vacation was VERY nice! The lodge was nice, the company was nice, travels were nice, etc. I'll post more on taht later. I've got pics uploaded and will detail it all maybe tomorrow.

Since we've been back, we made it to church, got the lawn up to date, and I washed all the laundry and got the house back under control.

Tonight at the dinner table:

Joey: Mom my birthday is pretty close.

Me: Um, Joey, it's Aug 21, I think there is some time.

Joey: Well after my game on Friday, can you go to town and buy me a card and hide it from me?

Me: No. (pause) Besides, do you even know what theme you want (I usually get a card in that theme)?

Joey: let me think on it.

about 5 min later

Joey: Mom, do they make President's Day birthday party stuff?

Me thinking: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? THIS is what you are goign to give me to work with! How am I going to pull off a cake shaped like Lincoln or Washington?

Joey interrupts my thoughts: Mom, I want to use that rainbow number 7 candle that we have (from Mat's bday). Oh good, that makes everything so much easier honey..............ROTFL!!!!!!!

I'm still hoping that he changes his mind!

They are after me........

My family is making fun of me for not blogging while on vacation so here I am.;)

We are having a very nice time despite RAIN!!!!!!!!! We're near St. Louis and I have done more in the few short days I've been here than in the 16 years that I've been married and visiting ILs who live near here!

We took everyone to The Magic House (St. Louis Children's Museum) and yesterday we went to Grant's Farm and some of us went to the top of the Arch!!!! I'd never been to the top and after spelunking and that, I think I'm pretty happy w/my feet planted firmly on the top of solid earth!LOL

Today is hanging out and maybe seeing what's the visitor center here. Home is soon!

ANd lots of pics to follow.

GREAT afternoon w/my oldest son!

09:05, 2009-May-23 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

Ok, I think I"m about as ready as I'm going to get. I did all kinds of laundry this am and then Mat and I left about 2 for town. We bowled, did tons of shopping and finally ate at Chili's and came home. He vacuumed out the jeep and I packed what I could. Dh went to a truck pull (Grrrrrrrr) w/Joey and they won't be home until late. That should make tomorrow morning go SO MUCH MORE SMOOTHLY, don't you think? UGH!

Mat was sooooooo good and he was such a gentleman! Made me proud! He even handled the waitress some of the time!

cleaning laundry and birthday!

11:25, 2009-May-22 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

Today has been good. I've mopped, worked out, got all the laundry hanging on the line and vacuumed. I've also managed to make the message board for my nephew for his bday and his card. The card is cute!LOL The board is drying and I found a bag big enough to hold all of his gifts.

I also talked to the lodge and we can rent frigs for $10 for the week! So we'll all at least have a small frig at our disposal. So things are coming together.;)

mowing, bowling nad gardening.......

04:38, 2009-May-21 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

I got up at the crack of dawn and got Mat to my dad in time. Dad said he did very well again. WHEW! Only worked about 4 hours this time (I think he still gets bfast and lunch!LOL) cuz there was an extra guy so that was nice. Mat hung out w/my mom and Keylee (they were both napping!LOL). Joey and I came home, worked out (yes together!LOL), showered, got my pedi and haircut, ate at LJS (I bribed Joey w/root beer cuz I didn't want Fazoli's!LOL), bowled, got crickets, went to 4-5 different places trying to find potato seed, stopped by pigman's tent and got 3 perennials, cashed in my free McCafe coupon, the health food store, tried to go the bulk food store and they were closed for Ascension Day. I obviously need to try and buy a brain on ebay cuz I then hightailed it over to hte AMish greenhouse to buy potato seed (I was hoping to plant them tonight!) and shock of all shocks, they were closed too (DUH!!!!!!). So home, unloaded and getting ready to head out and get Mat.

Whoops! Mom just called and asked if Mat could spend the night. She's not feeling well and was afraid to drive. We have nothing going on and Mat would probably enjoy the change of pace so I'm done rushing!

WE GOT OUR MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!!

04:19, 2009-May-20 .. Posted in daily life .. 0 comments .. Link

WAHOO! We got our money from the bank back today!!!!!!!!! What a HUGE relief and now I just need to get my debit card activated and we can relax a bit!

Today was fun w/MOMS picnic (end of year) and then we did botany at hte park. It was too nice to sit inside and we are DONE w/botany!!!!! Plus we did some review w/flora in the park!LOL Then to the bank to get cash, the grocery and the end of year HS library party. Finally home to dust and clean the bathrooms. Joey's got practice in a bit so I'm getting done what I can online. Tomorrow is a SUPER busy day adn I"m proud to say that Mat told him friend on the phone that he'll skip mythbusters tonight since we have to get up very early to meet my dad so that he can mow! It's nice to see some maturity!

baseball and monday....

Laundry is done and I need to weed. I also need to do that last botany lesson, but it's TOOOOOOO pretty to be inside!LOL I have no supper plans either.

Joey got 3 hits and on base all 3 times tonight! Plus he was catcher the last inning! We were SO proud of him!

Things are status quo here. I guess I"m used to the stress and can eat now. I did buy a new camera today. A canon powershot SX110SI or something like that. All I know is that it has decent shutter/lag time, 10x optical zoom and it's fairly compact (NOT SLR). Mat's been a pill adn I"m not sure what's up w/that. I hope these crying phases end SOON! We're having grilled pork steaks and baked potatoes for supper! W/fresh chives! YUMM!!!!!!!!! I'm also getting geared up for this week. Dad and Mat will mow on Thursday adn despite irking DH, I"m setting up appt at the 'upscale' beauty college back home for a cut and pedicure. It's far more money than the one here, but it will let me take Mat and not have to come home to turn around to pick him up. PLus I think mom might watch Joey..........haven't asked yet.  A field trip on Tues if no rain, Wed is a picnic and library, Joey has 3 games and Mat SHOULD have make up soccer. So Friday, I"ll clean and do laundry and Saturday I'll pack for our vacation.

Oh yea, we did geocache after church. Dh adn I were 'discussing' HOW to cache and an old (both age and how long we've known her!LOL) tried to talk to us!LOL But I told DH that it's NOT a 30 second hop out, find it, log and leave. So we actually spent TIME looking for it and sure enough, *I* found it! It was one buried in the ground at hte base of a post w/a rock and dead grass over it. HA HA! He said it wasn't there!LOL It was really simple overall, but it gave Dh a good insight into this. So we're going to load a few for while we are on vacation. Mom informed me that it sounds like it's not of any interest to her. I told her that she didn't have to do it!LOL But the boys had fun and I think Dh did as well.

Saturday

Good and bad day. I"m frustrated. i want a hair cut and pedicure, but I"m not sure when. Mat had his game (cuz seriously, 2 games in the entire season???? They are to make some up next week). Joey's got a practice tomorrow, but I doubt that we go. Joey's got a make up game Monday. Next week was supposed to be CALM! Now I've got 3 games of Joey's and probably 2 for Mat. Toss in a field trip and trying to get ready for vacation......

I'd like to go bowling today, but I don't see that happening. Dh wants to mow (too wet) and wash and wax the jeep. An idiot light came on on the way home and he doesn't seem too concerned......cuz i just don't have enuf fun going on right now, I'm sure that will be something really bad! But it went back off.

And I had stuff out for supper and he said that he wanted to stop and get pork steaks. Fine. I'll make 2 casseroles w/my stuff and toss them in the freezer. So we buy potatoes (I've got fresh chives!) and WE FORGOT THE PORK STEAKS!!!!! I did get 2 corned beefs 50% off. And we tried to find a geocache, but Dh isn't super patient, he d/l it to the GPS and Mat and I had no idea w/the clue/page/etc was so it was not pretty........LOL We'll try the one back home tomorrow.

Fiesta Friday success!!!!

I'm dead. It's 3:30 and I just sat down for the day. I don't know if DH talked to hte bank or not. I've heard nothing from paypal (I'll change the resolution to a formal complaint on Monday). I need to call my neighbor nad see if she wants her money back or me to bid on another cartridge. I hope she's not upset that I got mine and she didn't. It truly was the cartridge that she won that didn't come. The fiesta today was a huge success. Tie dying went well as did the other classes. I've got stuff to set up to get going w/cacheing, too. Everyone chipped in and we were out of there by 1. I did have to run to Walmart to get some food and saw those wet/dry shirts marked down to $5 so I snagged 2 of those and bought JOey a pair of plaid shorts ($5). I've begged Mat to get some and he refuses. But JOey only had 2 pair of shorts and he won't care.;) We got home from that and unloaded and put everything away. Mat vacuumed out the jeep and tiedyed towels are drying on the line. I put away all the laundry and made 3 Thank yous for the teachers (an upside to teaching is that I only needed 3 and not 4...) and those are ready to stick in the mailbox. I then entered my decoy mail and updated our field trips on HS tracker. I have sausage out for spaghetti and bought some clearanced chipolte garlic bread. We'll use half tonight and I"m making some alfredo chicken lasanga dish tomorrow nigh tand use the other half then.

I did have some stomach issues, but they were better than yesterday. I was able to eat, which as an improvement.

dumbing down........

We've been busy here. Monday was catch up day and I got a ton done. Yesterday was the field day at the cultural center. It was for 6th-8th graders, but there were some 9th graders. They let Joey tag along and while they are pretty good about including everyone, I did make sure that Joey knew that if there wasn't space, time, etc, he was to be a spectator. The 1st few events he was easily able to be included in since we were our own 'group'. There were to be 16 homeschoolers and SIX showed up!!!! Is it not a wonder this place has seriously backed off how many HS activities they offer? At any rate, I was completely amazed at what they were presenting that's considered middle school level. JOEY EASILY DID MOST OF IT!!!!!!!! Seriously, he was right in the thick of things and UNDERSTOOD it! Mat was fine w/it, but there wasn't really a challenge. Which is fine. I paid $6 and it was 9-2 and we rotated 8 stations. They covered renewable energy, habitats, water testing, trivia, proved which cars are gas guzzlers, etc.

After that, Joey had a game last night. They did OK. I find Joey a tiny bit frustrating, but such as life.

Today is another field trip at a pie factory and I'm watching the under 10 crowd at the library. I have all the forms filled out and ready to go. I just need to get us ready to go!LOL

Then Joey has a playdate at 12:30 and practice at 5. I was up at 5:30 so this will be another long day.
