Home birth
So I am reading an interesting book with thorough discourse on the subject of birth, it is called BIRTH. The author, though decidedly atheistic, and certainly feministic, things she and I do not share, and I agree on one thing, childbirth is best in the home and society, especially the established medical society, works against this happening. After two great hospital births, I finally convinced my husband to have a homebirth. We did, alone, and it was beautiful. My third son was born in our bathtub at 6am with my husband catching him and guiding him toward the surface for his first breath. Natural birth is so different from hospital births, even when you use no drugs and allow no vaginal views during the birth, hospitals still make birth out to be so medicinal, when it is really so lovely, so intimate, so beautiful in a woman's home surrounded by her husband and children. I just wish for more women to experience the joys of being at home when their little ones are ushered into the world.

And I'd love to hear more about your births! I've written about my first one (a c-section), and though we've had 4 natural vbacs, none have been at home (yet?). I love to read birth stories.
I hope you enjoy blogging. HSB is a great place to be.
Blessings,
Keri

This is a wonderful blogging community. I hope you will enjoy blogging here. I know that I have "met" some sweet friends by being here.
Your profile sounds like a post I did 2 weeks ago. It was entitled "Me a Homesteader? But I don't live in the County." I, like you, don't live in the country, but I have learned that being a "homesteader" is really an attitude of the heart. We can do home-minded things whererever we are! I would love to live more rurally, but until the Lord makes that possible, I will be content where I am and I will make my home into a haven.
Please stop by my blog if you have a chance. And, do, have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Patti

I look forward to reading more on your blog. Thanks for stopping by and considering me a "friend."

Hello! I am in Central CA, and a homesteader-at-heart-in-the-"city", too! I have blogged at homeschoolblogger.com/mommaofmany for a little over a year, and have started here recently!
I'd love to have a home birth, but all mine have been at the hospital or adopted! I'm glad for you that your husband agreed to that wonderful experience!
I look forward to hearing more from you!
Blessings,
Momma

I agree. We have 4 little ones. Our first was born in the hospital and we did not like the experience at all! Almost put me off having any more children :-(. Our next 3 were born at home. 2nd child a very easy birth, 3rd was a hard birth but with a great midwife turned out great. Our 4th child came so quick was caught by my hubby just before the midwife arrived. :-)
