Family Outing

We went on a little outing this morning to the farmer's market.  We have a really nice one about 25 minutes from us and the whole family went to look around.  DH and I are considering raising meats and vegetables for the farmer's market next spring and I wanted to show him what the market was like.  The market has a very yuppie customer base and I think the prices reflect it.  People pay good prices for the fresh from the farm experience.  With a diversified product mix we think we could supplement our income to help pay for the farm.

We are looking at all of our income sources and options right now as we are still trying to figure out about my staying at home.  It is a very complicated issue as DH is self-employed brings home a good income, but not enough to support our current home and household.  We get supplemental income from caring for foster kids, but this income is unreliable especially if we choose to adopt.  My earning potential is much higher and I could support us if my husband stayed home without having to rely on any other income sources.  DH is fine with him staying home as he can get lots done around the place and use his time very well.  He will keep some of his clients and take the kids to work and work when I am off.  The big question is whether that is really the Lord's will for us - for the wife to support the family.  I welcome feedback on this subject.  I am working to be submissive to my husband and allow him to make the decision.

The weather is kind of gray around here and we are all being lazy.  The kids are fairly calm and quiet so a nap is in my future.  Happy homesteading . . .
