Canning Update and More From the Farm

DH took the kids fishing this morning.  I am suppose to have breakfast on when they return in a half hour.  I am running late.  I awoke early this morning to finish some canning.  Yesterday I shopped the local farm stands and picked blueberries.  I got cauliflower, cherries, broccoli, and cucumbers.  The berries are in the freezer, the cauliflower and broccoli got froze last night, the cherries got canned last night, and the cucumbers are getting pickled right now.  I still have peas to can from my own garden later today. 

I am trying hard not to work on Sundays but I took yesterday afternoon off to get my hair done.  It was nice to be pampered.  I have been encouraging DH to spend more time with the kids and family.  He is usually quite good at this but since he has been working on the barn it takes almost all of his free time.  The barn is coming along well and it mostly framed.  The new power lines and water lines are in.  The kids informed me that they made good progress on framing yesterday and will side today.  DH has been letting them climb ladders and pound nails and they are taking quite alot of ownership in how things are coming.

I need to do some dairy prep today also.  I didn't get milk (from a local farm) until yesterday evening so I did not get to it yet.  Yogurt and butter need to be made.  I did make 6 quarts of ice cream on Friday as we are having guests to dinner tonight.  I need to do some baking for that.  I also need to make Kim Chi for the coming week.
