Well, I guess it's hello and then goodbye. I have been looking fora place to enjoy blogging without having difficulty doing so and it seems as though I am having the same difficulties here that I had at the "other Place". So, I must say good bye and thanks for your kind comments. God bless. New BiBle Study

Have any of you ever heard of Dave Ramsy's "Financial Peace University"? It is an awesome study. We just started it about 3 weeks ago. It teaches you how to, of course, budget your money and save 3-6 months worth of your monthly bills. And, it also teaches you how to bargain shop, and good investments and bad investments, and ONLY TO PAY CASH for EVERYTHING!!! Well, it's a whole new way of life for us, but I am excited about it. He is a funny man too. He's not a boring man to listen too. I would encourag you to look into it if you have never heard of him or his ideas. He is a Christain and bases is program on scripture. I would definitely like to learn to live more frugally and through this study and being reminded of the Lord's word, we will be able to do that. She's finally loping!!!

Today, we didn't have school, so we started out our day with a riding lesson with Kayla's trainer. KAyla didn't ride her horse though. She rode a school horse who is completely trained.... he's pretty push button. Although Nipper (Kayla's Quarter Horse) is very quiet, he is only 4 and still in training. He has fallen behind in his training a little because, as I said last week, he has EPM, and so that has put us behind a bit. Anyway, KAyla hasn't loped at all yet on Nipper, and since her first Quarter Horse show is coming up in March she needs to learn how, so Megan put her on a school horse today. Let me back up a bit.... She has a pony too that she has been riding for 4 years now and she walk, trot, canters, and jumps him, but this is a whole new style of riding, so she has to learn that new style and that's what she 's learning now. So, today, she learned to lope. It was a little fast for a western lope, but she did it and sat very still in the saddle and all her fear of doing it left her. So, her and Nipper are leaning together. It's nice for them to be "growing up" together so to speak. As soon as she gets her Q's a little better, Megan will put her on Nipper to lope but, for now, he is very sensitive to the Q's so she will ride the school horse until then. After her lesson, we went to a sportsplex and rollerbladed and rockclimbed with the rest of my children and other friends and then we came home and ate a quick dinner, then she had cheer practice til 8 pm. Then, we came home and kids got baths and went to bed!! Another busy day. This crazy weather....

Thanks for everyone's advise on some gardening tips. I think I might try to put it in an area in the front of my house or along the side where Julie suggested. Anyway, the weather here today is like 65 degrees. I mucked stalls today in short sleeve shirt!! No jacket!! I had to take the horses blankets off of them because it was so warm out! It was a perfect temperature to ride, but unfortunately I had too many other things to do so I didn't have time...:0(!! Anyway, I think the horses enjoyed having their heavy blankets off. I wonder when winter is going to hit??? Well, have a great evening. I must clean up from being in the barn!! Gardening again??

Before we moved here, we lived on about 1.25 acres. We had a pretty large garden, but we haven't had one since we moved from there. We haven't been able to find a good area to put one here yet. Although we have more land, it's all spoken for. Here's what I've got and maybe you guys can give me some suggestions. We have two paddokcs in the back of our house, and we need all we have for our horses. Our backyard is now a pool, and our front yard is sloped and the right side has a barn on it and the left side is too shady. At the very bottom of ous slope in the front is our drain field. There is one small area that might work diagonally from the house, but it's not REAL flat, AND my dogs can get in there. I really would love to plant some green beans and corn and onions and tomaotoes again, and perhaps some asparagus again. Oh, and how could I forget the ultimate SQUASH!!! I know you don't know my yard, but I'm up for suggestions anyway. It's cold here in WV!!

It's a cold day here in WV.....22 degrees! Not a good day to ride. It's a beautiful sunny day though. My children were commenting on the "shiny, sparkly" grass on the way to school. I love their descriptions of our beautiful nature. I usually have my horses stalled at night in this weather, but I have been struggling with 2 bulging discs in my neck and spurs in the same area, so I didn't want to endure the pain later after mucking stalls. So, here I am letting them stay outside with blankets on. They are fine, but I prefer to spoil them....well, really they like it better outside, but you know what I mean. They are feasting on their rollbails and playing in the field, and I'm missing taking care of them by muckin stalls and graining them. Believe it or not, that is peaceful time to me. I don't mind shoveling poop. lol! It's part of taking care of my animals. Anyway, maybe, I'll get back on track here soon, cause I start physical therapy today. Oh, and the bulging discs are from a HORSE ACCIDENT, and I gave that horse away, and t hold the other people why. They were ready for the challenge. The spurs are from years of being a hair dresser prior to having children. Well, that's it for today. Have a great day. A Little bit about me...

I Have been hearing about this blog sight from some friends, and they keep tellin' me that I should come here since I don't home school anymore, but I do live on a farm. Well, here I am. I have a Small horse farm on 6 acres. We currently have 6 horses, which is alot of horse for a little bit of land, but it is working for us. One horse is in training at a local farm just a few miles down the road from us. My daughter is 12 and is just getting ready to start showin in the Quarter horse circiut this spring. Unfortunately, just last week, we found out that this horse, Nipper, has EPM. He is being treated now. He was at a farm in Ohio over the summer and propably got it there, because another horse came home with it as well. He is an awesom boy. He just turned 4 and is probably one of the sweetest boys you'll ever meet. He's Mr. Personality!!! We also have An arabian/welsh pony who has carried my same daughter for 4 years now in the huntseat circuit and he is 21 and still acting 10!! He's awesome too. My 7 year old son rides him along with my 12 yr. old daughter now. I have two personal horses myself... a drft cross. She's short (for a draft) and stockie, and I have a TenneseeWalker/Quarter cross. They are both fun to ride. and then , there Sweetie. We sold her to our firneds, but she still lives with us. She's a 22 year old arab.... very sweet and safe. I love my horses. Oh, and How could I forget Berjoza....SHe's our 6 yr. old thoroughbred. We bought her for a little girl that loves horses.... and she comes over and talkes care of her. Long Story....I'l blog that one day. We also have 2 dogs and three cats. I am a stay-at-home mom of 4 children. They all attend school now. My husband is a realtor and a wonderful father and husband. The Lord has blessed us with Many Blessings on our little farm and that is why we call it "Many Blessings". We have lived here for 3 years now and I still have to pinch myself some days to make sure I'm not dreaming. We have done certain things here to make it "youth friendly" so that kids can come and be safe and have fun. That is part of our ministry. Its funny because I never used to be home before I moved here, but now, I hate to leave home even to go to the store..... Anyway, this is just a little about me and our farm of Many Blessings. |
