I love snow days!

Well it was not really a snow day.  More like an ice day.  It was freezing rain most of the day but we still had a blast.  We started our valentines day with  chocolate chip pancakes in  the shape of a heart.  Then we watched a budding love story of two dogs...better known as Lady And The Tramp.  That was followed by my kids all time favorite for lunch......mac and cheese.  Then,  the moment they were all waiting for ....The Scavenger Hunt.   I hid hearts around the house that had clues that led them to their final destination.....the freezer.  Inside the freezer was a heart shaped Carvel ice cream cake.  My kids LOVE carvel cakes.  Each child got a card and a new leapster cartridge.....after all.... with all the grandparents spoiling them with candy, they didn't need anymore candy from us.  I managed to get a workout in while Blake slept and Kaleigh and Parker played quietly.  Then we had a tea party, made apple pies for Daddy, and Kaleigh and I painted our nails.    Whew.  It was a full day but it was fun.  Daddy brought home chinese for supper which was perfect because after my 3 kids finished baking the pies, it looked like a flour bomb had gone off in my kitchen.  Oh well they had a blast.  Kaleigh made the crust ALL by herself.  I was so proud of her.  We worked on fractions while she was doing it.   See I'm still homeschooling, when I can, just on a smaller scale  .   Parker and Blake worked real hard on peeling the apples with the peeler-correr that I have.   Oh funny story.....Parker was putting the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl when he decided it smelled good and he would go down for a better smell.   He ended up snorting up some nutmeg and boy did that hurt.  I had him blow his nose and them he started sneezing.  I couldn't help but laugh it was too funny.  I hope he learned a valuable lesson.  Don't get so close to smell something!     Well here are some pics of the scavenger hunt and my little bakers.

The day ended with the kids favorite past time...wrestling with Daddy!

Did I mention we stayed in our PJ's all day......
