Trimming the Tree
Posted on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 02:10 - Post Comment
It is our family tradition to get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving or the weekend after. It is also a tradition that it becomes an all day event. You see my DH has to have the perfect tree so we search for hours around the tree farm until the kids are cold and tired and begin to whine.....or is that me? Any way I am happy to report that this year we found our tree in a record breaking 20 minutes. DH wanted to go play football at 1:00pm so he hurried the proccess up for us this year. The kids were very eager to decorate the tree and we blasted the Christmas music and went to it. I learned a very valuable lesson last year with 3 children 6 and under....GO PLASTIC!!! Last year after the death of dozens of glass bulbs we went to walmart and bought all silver and gold plastic balls. This year was much less frustrating and I think the gold and silver theme looks nice. We did have to put on all the homemade ornaments the kids have made throughout the years. That's the most excititng part for them I think....seeing all the ornaments they made themselves. Well take a peek and tell me what you think. Pretty huh?

Lovely shape.... nice size... you did good. And, no whining! Or very cold weather, either.

Hi Connie, me again. Your blog doesn't show up as updated in my blogroll so I never know when you've updated until I get off my lazy fingers and point the browser this way. :) Your tree looks great! And I think that we, too, are making the switch to all-plastic this year. We just put the tree and ornaments up yesterday and we've already had a casualty. And it wasn't even from our baby, the one we were worried about! ;)

About Me

I am a mother of three. I desire to grow closer with the Lord and raise children who love and honor Him. Knowing I am a work in progress, I have decided to start this blog to keep in touch with family and friend from a far and perhaps meet some new ones who can help me in this journey of life.
