My grandmother

My grandmother took a spill yesterday and broke her foot.  She has been in the hospital several times in the past 18 months.  I love her dearly and am very worried about her living alone.  My husband and I are both in agreement that at any point in time, we will take her in and care for her.  I think the time is now.  She, however, wants to remain independent and living on her own.  She gave up driving about 9 months ago and depends on us for dr's apts, grocery shopping, etc.  She loves her great grandchildren (as she is seen above with two of the three) and living here would be great for them to see more of one another.  My grandmother is so wonderful and never wants to burden me because she feels I have enough already to take care of with my three babies.  I just want her to be safe and have someone around who can call for help if something should happen.  Let go and let God, right?  I'm trying.

I know how you feel. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 2 years ago. She was very independent since my dad died some 23 years ago. She was very reluctant to give up her living alone. My brother and his fiance has recently moved in with her. She has her good days and her bad days. She does need looking after tho. It is hard for them to let us take care of them, when they have taken care of us for so long. It is a part of life that is hard to accept. God will take care of things and it will all work out. Keep the faith.
