Hahaha! We homeschool as well, and I know so well of what you speak. When DD was young - a friend who owns a consingment shop wasn't able to really be there for a while when her in-laws were ailing - so I ran the shop for her for a while, I'd often bring DD with me...At the start, lots of looks, comments, debates - then I learned DD could field it all quite well herself.
One day a regular customer came in and DD was dressing manequins - the woman asked why she wasn't in school - DD said "I am at school, I'm homeschooled so school for me is wherever my Mommy is, and she's right there." (DD was all of 10 at the time) Then - "well, how can this be school for you?" DD - "Well, I help at the register, that's pratical math skills. Right now, I've been studying the effect of asthetics of display design to sales. So far, I've dressed this manequin 3 times, and every time someone comes in and buys the whole outfit - purse and all - not just the shirt or pants they came in looking for." Then the (come on you know it's coming) - "Don't you miss socializing?" DD- "Oh no, I socialize all the time. We have neighbors we're close with, I still have friends who go to school, plus my sibilings, and my cousins...in fact, I'm standing here socializing with YOU right now..then whispers "I'm *supposed* to be at the desk finishing my math"
She's almost 17 now, and still fields all inquiries much more smoothly than I can. I tend to get a little defensive - in spirit at least, if not outwardly.
Yea Homeschool.

What a bad rap it has got in the past.
Like every thing else... when examined on a case to case basis, there are more successes than failures.
The fruit of the the tree....is true

About Me

I am a mother of three. I desire to grow closer with the Lord and raise children who love and honor Him. Knowing I am a work in progress, I have decided to start this blog to keep in touch with family and friend from a far and perhaps meet some new ones who can help me in this journey of life.
