fruit of my labor

I was so thrilled with my 5 year old this morning I just had to post about it. I am starting to see the fruits of my labor of homeschooling. He wrote this sign with absolutely no help...and only forgot the extra 'p' in the word ripping.

Yesterday he did a rainy day math excersize that he seemed to enjoy and did really well. He only got one wrong. He did the math facts for 3,5,7,10 and 11

My daughter this past week took a pottery lesson with her Homeschool Americal Girl History group.

Watching and learning. She's the one witht he pink headband.

Here she is making her coil mug. Can't wait to see the final project all glazed and fired.
We only have 5 more days of official school. But as many of you know....for homeschoolers, the learning never stops. We are going to be reading as a family, Treasure Island, and doing lots of fun pirate activities that enhance the book and incorporate math and map skills. We are also doing a fun study of Mexico and Japan this summer by using highlights Top Secret Adventures. Also, I just found out about "Bookworm Wednesdays". A local movie theatre is giving free matinee tickets to children who bring a book report with them to the theatre. Yahoo.....if that's not an incentive to read I don't know what is. This will be great for when Wally comes out. My kids are dying to see that movie. Well I'm off to join my kids in a game of "Go Fish"....till next time.

Isn't it exciting to have moments like that...you are doing a great job and your children are benefitting from that. Love the photos.
Have a wonderful weekend.

About Me

I am a mother of three. I desire to grow closer with the Lord and raise children who love and honor Him. Knowing I am a work in progress, I have decided to start this blog to keep in touch with family and friend from a far and perhaps meet some new ones who can help me in this journey of life.
