Classical Education

Joe and I went to a Classical Converstions meeting last night.  I am really inspired to begin a classical education with our children whether we do it with this group or as a family.  Has anyone been involved with this group?  Any input on classical homeschooling from seasoned moms?  Please share.  I have not revealed on my blog that I have not ALWAYS homeschooled.  I regret this immensely.  Now that Alexis is going to be going into the 9th grade I am seeing a lot of areas of weakness.  What do you do?   

Also-Classically educating a pre-schooler?  Any ideas or curriculums of choice?  Or none? Do you think just playing and reading books together is good enough?

I was also inspired when I read a Well Trained Mind - excellent reading!!!! I use Sonlight - I find it to be a good mix of classical and Charlotte Mason - I see benefit of both - I like Charlotte Mason,My husband likes Classical - so this is something that we both appreciate!!!! Of course, I buy all ours used.
