DIETING...

I have finally decided once and for all to lose weight!  It honestly has been 6 years since I felt at a healthy weight.  I am more determined then ever.  Now I am going to be completely honest.  We have 6 kiddos whom I homeschool.  My home during the day is not as stress-free as I would like.  Believe me there is never a dull moment in our house!  I  believe that for me personally I eat because of stress.  Yes....stress.  I am not a perfect mommy and wife,  I still struggle with many things as I go about my life with my family.  I do find being in the Word helps. But after praying for God to give me the strength to move on with my day after whatever catastrophe happens ....I would head toward the kitchen!  

I have at least 30 pounds to lose.  I joined sparkpeople.com  and have started tracking my calories.  I also write down everything I eat along with the approx. calories.  A few days ago I purchased a Pilates DVD online at Amazon.  The DVD only cost about 5.00 with shipping included!  I am so excited to receive it! 

Anyone have any dieting pointers for me? Maybe you guys can hold me accountable.  I could post my weekly weight loss.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier if you didn't have to feed those 6 children. I homeschool also and spend a lot of time planning, preparing, cleaning up after 3 meals a day. That is a lot of time in the kitchen. Plus we do a lot of our school work sitting at the bar. I hope to see you post your results soon.

I just wanted you to know that you are not alone! I've been at it for about three weeks and have lost 9 pounds and have gained a lot of energy. I'm just eating a balanced diet (counting calories, too), but I make sure to drink enough water and get on that treadmill even when I don't feel like it! I'll be cheering you on!

You are absolutely right about wouldn't it be easier if you did not have to feed the 6 children! It seems as though we just finish cleaning up breakfast then we are back in the kitchen again preparing lunch. Then right after lunch I start preparing dinner so it is ready to go into the oven later! I believe pregnancy had a lot to do with it too. For me personally I think when I was pregnant it gave me the green light to eat whatever and whenever I wanted. Then after the baby comes your so used to doing that that it is hard to stop a bad habit!

I would suggest cutting out all refined sugar and flour and drink all water. That is what I am doing. It has been slow going but I do feel a lot better.

Dieting is so hard. Actually you shouldn't "diet". Change your life. Eat 70% veggies, lots of soup, drink lots of water, and exercise 20-30 minutes a day. Even if your doing leg lifts while cooking, or crunches while watching tv.
