Father's Day

What do you all plan to do for the special father's in your lives?  My parent's birthdays are on June 16th and June 18th so we usually combine birthday's and Father's Day.  This year my daughter suggested we buy them an easy translation Bible.  So we went to our local Christian bookstore and bought "The Message".  My mother had suggested an easy to read Bible a while ago, so what better time to buy it for them?   I know some of you believe that some translations are not right, but at this point all I want my parents to do is be able to understand it.  I would rather them "get it", ya know?  Both my parents are getting up there in age so time is not on their side! I believe God helped me pick out that Bible for them!  We had their names engraved on the Bible to make it extra special!  We are so thankful for such wonderful parent's and grandparent's for our children.  They are truly our gift.

That sounds like a WONDERFUL gift! I was raised to read KJV ONLY. Later, I received the Women's Devotional Bible II and it was NIV, I am AMAZED at how much more I comprehend during my study time! It's like it's just come alive for me! I am so glad that I put away my worries and started reading it this way for study time. I still use my KJV as well, but I find this Women's Devotional Bible such a great help. The devotions in it are wonderful and I also use the calendar in the back to read through the bible in a year (but I don't start from beginning to end, I jump around and just mark the days off as I go...best method for me)...ANYWAY, I hope your parents have a wonderful birthday/father's day celebration w/your family!
