Happenings from the Bush homestead

Scarce I suppose.

And another boring entry.  My diary as a child was full of things.  Now though, not much changes from day to day except the weather.

I've had my tea for the day.  I love Traditional Medicinals teas.  I don't drink any other kind anymore.  Strong peppermint tea, Red Rasberry Leaf tea, Eater's Digest tea and others.  Organic even!  I drank Lipton tea since I was young.  Then last year I could never go back.  I tried another brand last year as well, but it made my mouth feel like I wiped it with rubbing alcohol.  Yuck!  I drink lots and lots of tea.  Straight tea.  No milk or sugars added.

I am very excited about the changes in the weather here in the middle of the USA.  Wet.  VERY wet.  Which, I don't like the wet so much, but that means ground thaw! and soon planting.  My Father in law was out tilling and getting ready for planting before the rain hit today.  Such a good sign!  And I love love love the smell no matter that my allergies are haywire.

I had pre-planeted some items in the little peat pot things.  Sadly, I messed that up and 1/2 of my effort is withered and dead.  I don't know what I could have done wrong.  Too early perhaps?  I don't know.  I DO know that I will not be doing that again in the future.  Planting straight to outdoors is the only way for me.  Besides, those jiffy pot things cost an arm and a leg just to have the items wither and die like that.

So another couple of weeks at most and I'll be out in the dirst!  YEAH!  I have not been able because of my health, to plant a garden for the last 2 summers.  This year, I am physically able and I have more than 100 seed packets to plant.  And now that I've killed off the peppers and tomatoes I started indoors, I need to repurchase those to add to the box.  Before I can do anything though, my husband needs to get the tractor from the shed and disk.  Then go borrow the tiller from his mother to refine it.  A lumpy garden is just not exceptable.

As far as sewing goes, I have gotten 1 dress for daughter #1 and #2 done.  2 dress for daughter #3 and #5 done.  And am working on #4's first dress.  She doesn't need any, but just so she doesn't feel left out.  The other girls need them or they will be naked and that would just be bad.  They are simple dresses, so it doesn't take long to get one done.  There are many more to sew up that I've already got cut out.  I love! the cleanced $1 and $2 material bolts tables at Walmart.  I'm very thankful that I learned to sew from my mother and in 4-H as well.

Well, since baby is now in her (my) bed asleep, I will head there as well.

personally I adore coffee & lots of it - grin! but every now and then I'm quite partial to a cup of white tea with two sugars (I do only use organic tea as my hubby is a tea drinker). You have been busy sewing & planting & looking after your little girls. I get tired with just two children...lol!
have a good day

I think you did a fantastic job with the sewing.

I love the medicinal teas too, but I like to add honey or stevia. Whenever I try the boxed teas like Bigelow...I never like them!

I have never successfully started tomatoes (havent tried peppers) indoors, so now I dont waste my money even trying, I just by the ones already started at the nursrey and plant those! Have a great day.

Starters from the nursery here too. I'm too impatient and our growing season is kind of short anyway. :)

As for tea, I go through phases. Sometimes I drink a lot, then I don't touch it for a couple of months. TM drinker, of course!
