LongEars Farm

Back to reality

Well my husband is back to work and my daughter is back to school and now I have to get back to a semblance of real life instead of this non-stop vacation mode :). All that sleeping in, aaaahhhh. So here are my boring plans for today. I'm out of pig food, goat chow and low on shavings, so a trip to the farm co-op is number one, particularly since it's member discount day, I'll save 10 percent on everything (not much but it's something). I'll probably also swing by my favorite tack store to see what's been marked down in the basement...I've done pretty well buying stuff there and reselling on ebay. Speaking of ebay, wonder how many of us subsidize our homesteads via ebay? In our house, ebay definitely pays for the extras. I primarily sell gently used plus size women's clothes, but I'm going to move strongly into selling gently used tack and horse supplies...a friend and I have a "bricks and mortar" consignment tack store here in our little town, but due to lack of heat, we close in the winter. This winter, we're going to try to take our store online, via ebay, and see how it does. So also on my agenda today is quite a bit more picture taking, then uploading and cropping (I'm sure you're starting to wonder when the homestead stuff happens...lol...it's winter here in the Northeast and we're expecting a snow storm today and barn chores and feeding have already happened for the AM at least, so, a good day to hunker down and earn some money!!) Of course the fun doesn't end there. Laundry and knitting are on the list...and dinner will be quiche with all the leftovers we have, probably make two so we have one for lunches tomorrow. And yes, it is possible to make quiche with just two eggs, no milk and no crust. LOL. I do it all the time, quiche is one of my many super frugal dishes I turn to when there's little else to choose from. Ok, enough rambling, best get going.
