Taking the plunge

You'd think a lifelong journalist wouldn't have a hard time creating a blog...but so it seems. Here's our short story: lifelong Californians, yuppies and sort of techies, go to China to adopt, mom decides to stay home, both realize life is, well, too much keeping up with those Smiths and Joneses, company is sold, family can relocate...here's what happens when three non-farm experienced people move three thousand miles from home to a 225 year old house and 6 acres in Northeast Mass. First chickens, then miniature donkeys, then a horse, then a pony, then more horses...and suddenly we're goat breeders, etc. etc. It's been challenging but mostly fun. I'll keep you posted on how it's going.

I have always wanted to live on a farm, you are so very lucky, I hope all is well and Have fun with those horses !!!! Horses are my favorite, but they are expensive to up keep, we had one for a while and my dear Roy built me my fenced area, wire and all !!! I miss it so much !!! He built my stall for him, too!

Well enough for now I'll keep in touch !!! Kelly

I'm up in Northern NH, doing the same thing ~ moved here to be with my folks as they age, and so my daughter has her grandparents while she grows up. We are creating a little sustainable homestead fo ourselves, a little bit at a time! Have fun with it!
