Pink eye for Mother's Day

Posted in Farming and Livestock

Hello everyone,

Well I really cannot beleive where the time has gone. It has been a month and I am just getting back to blog. WOW.  Things here have been realy spring like with all the running around trying to get everything put back and cleanned out. I have spent the last few hours catching up on all my blogging friends blogs and cannot beleive what I have been missing out on. Also with some also moving bolgs.

I'll try my best to bring all you up to date with what has been going on around here. Where to start? well there has been no colts born yet, but it is getting very close for both  Shyann the pony and Lea the Llama. The incubator has been working overtime hatching a liitle of everything from different kinds of chickens to ducks to geese. Our bird order for our turkeys and guinnas hens just came in on Saturday, and we ended up getting 25 meat birds for very little as well as the feed store called us up asking if we wanted them as the people did not pick up their orders. I also have another 25 coming from a different feed store on June 17th so needless to say we will have lots of chicken this winter.Good thing hubby picked up that extra deepfreeze from friend at work last week.

I started cleaning out the pond and also started a new flower bed that will have have a large part for my herb garden. I will be finishing up the beds for hem this week.

My son came home from school last Friday with Pink eye and gave it to his sisters, So I spent Mothers Day in the ER making sure that was what it was, and sure enough they had to spend the week home. Which turned out to be a great week of outdoor cleanning. We had special collection in our garbage pick up so we really cleaned house or should I say yard.

But the good news ends there as on Wednesday afternoon hubby and his boss from work went to check on our camp that is about 45 minutes away and is in the mountains. We always open it up for the year in May and close it for the winter in October. As we do not have a good snowmobile to get there in winter. Well they come to find that the second story roof had caved in and make a terrible mess. Where we last so much. The ground floor had suffered bad water damage and he had to take three days off of work and we travelled back and forth for three days. Luckly we have some good friends that came to lend a hand and with the help from God we were able to get a roof on it again and was given so furniture. Friends are always there when we need them, and I thank God each and everyday for them.

The laying hens are fially enjoying the outdoors as hubby and Justin built a nice caged in pen today off the back of the coop and I will enjoy not having the hens tear out my flower beds this summer.

We have been also enjoying alot of outdoor cooking the last little while and cannot wait to do somemore. Well I must get to bed and wish all of you another wonderful week ahead.
