Runaway Llama

Posted in Farming and Livestock

No sleeping in on Saturday mornings anymore with all these we little lambs running about. I don't mind on days like these. It is 1 drgree this morning and i can see the differance in the snow already these last few days. Spring has finally hit us. I can see my clothsline now, and will have my quilts back on there very soon.

All my kids and lambs are doing great. I had a unexpected mile long walk yesterday afternoon when my yearling llama decided to walk over the fence and head down the road as i was in the middle of delivering lambs. I did not even notice her gone until the neighbour came in blowing her car horn and telling me she was a mile down the road. I did catch up to her and had traffic stopped all over. Everyone thought she was soooo pretty. But at that point I did not, so in my old barn cloths and boots, I walked her by the halter a mile up the road. Who would have thought that there would ever be so much traffic on a country road. oh well. everyone was fine and the new twins who were named mary kate and ashley are also doing great. Well I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday.oh the joys of farming.

We've done nearly the same capture procedure here with a horse many times, and the goats are always escaping...but the Llama makes the story much more humorous:-) They are so cute and yet funny to look at at the same time. 1 degree?! And I've been complainging about it being too cold, for too long here! We had temps in the 20's a couple mornings ago, but one degree is what we get in January!
