Today was quite the day, dad stayed home and we spent the day in the wonderful company of each other!
My darling mother came and woke me up at seven this morning; I must say that I hate getting up in the morning!
When I wake up in the morning I just want to lay there and enjoy the noises going on around me. For years I would listen to my father ironing his uniform.
I loved waking up to this, because it made me feel how very near he was. I hardly get to wake up to this blessed noise now for two reasons, the military keeps him away from home quite a bit lately, and they switched to uniforms that do not need to be ironed! (How rude)
Now I get to wake up to my mother running on the treadmill, though this sound is not as wonderful to me, I do love knowing she is up.
If she is not running, she is unloading the dishes. Now this sound I do love, because the sound the dishes being put where they belong makes me feel like the day is really beginning. I also adore it when my mother is talking to Little Bear. The sweet girl tries so hard to imitate what my mother said. She ends up speaking gibberish, but it warms my sprit. This is a good thing, because I hate getting out from my warm covers, the warmth and comfort I feel under my covers is found no where else. I love lying in bed and praying. There are so many things I talk to God about when I wake up. Mostly that I will honor him with the day I am faced with.
Today in bible devotions we talked about diligence.
Proverbs 6:6
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!

(this is a cake I made a while back)
I quickly said a prayer once I read these words; it went something like this…
Lord I am not as diligent as an ant, but through you I can be.
Give me the strength do your will; let me do my tasks as an ant does his.
After devotions we went with dad, to bring a bunch of garbage to the recycling. We had to go to three different places, because no where takes everything! The Juggler was able to earn $2.90 from the aluminum cans.
We also had to go the storage shed, packing for our vacation next week will be interesting. We are going to try a new way of packing for six. We are going to pack one day worth of clothes for each person in each suit case. This way we will just have to bring in one suit case in at a time.
Once we got home we hit the books. I was a little behind on Grammar (as you can read I need this lesson) I caught up YEAH!!!! I gave the Juggler her spelling test, fixed my vocabulary from last week, and did my math lesson.
Then my parents left me with the girls so they could run some errands. We jumped on the trampoline (the Doodler had a lot to teach me!) We danced to the music on the Jugglers blog, and we enjoyed each other’s company. I want to remember the days I spend at home as an older sister as some of the best days.
My parents brought lunch home, and then it was time for History. We are studying ~The Roaring Twenties~ We are having a ball learning about the fashion, although this is how our sinful world got into the trouble it is in today. Never has our culture been so naked! It all started with the Roaring Twenties. Things got shorter, and they didn’t seem to stop.

Tonight I am going to start my English book Babbitt I have no idea what it is about, as I have never heard of it. It was written by Sinclair Lewis in 1922 so I am guessing that it will be about the Jazz age J
May the Lord bless you as richly as he has me,
