7-2-09 Up-date

Posted By m j

Kristi was board earlier today and decided to play wii.  She played monopoly with Hope!  Hope is our soon to be 10 year old golden medical alert service dog.  We train the dog to all kinds of stuff some funny and silly but this is too much!

Titus is doing great in his service dog training.  We took him out for the first time to go shopping and he was wonderful.  If we stopped and looked or spoke to someone he would lay down with out being told to.  I thought it was odd, so I kept testing him.  I would walk and stop not look at him he would just lay down .  That is amazing for a six month old puppy to do on his first outing in stores.  I wonder if Kristi is going to teach Titus to play monopoly??

We start training them as soon as they are born.  Also having good parents helps too.  It took me two years to find his parents, to find the lines I was looking for.  Now we need one more female golden.  We might get one from Alex's breeder.

Blessings, Mj

1. Is Kristi finding out there are more than one of her:

2. Mya discover pine cones, do pine nuts come from pine cones??:

3. Is Kristi playing cars (she is the car)

4. Maybe I will be a better car sitting down??

5. Better yet I will play speed bump!! Did I send Kristi with her insuance card???

6. Mya discovers a cow and gives it a kiss !!

7. Milk comes from here ???? I know the poor thing , will she ever get over the shock???

8. Then they made friends with the locals:

JANET!!!!, we do not let the girls play speed bump in the middle of the Road!!! /.    We need to let the girls out of the house once in a while.  Poor Mya was so lost as to where milk comes from!! And did not know what a pine cone was!!!   Poor Kristi she thought there was more than one of her!!  Look at the locals nails on that local, see how long they are?? They could hurt the girls!!

Sorry but I had to write and show the pictures , they are so cute.  I will show more latter.

today

Posted By Jill

I've done fairly well keeping off the computer today until I get something done. I did my Bible study on Ezekiel 45 & 46 - animal sacrifices in the future? God has it all planned out with perfectness in everything.

This week dear daughter and dear son will both come home tomorrow. Ang is at church camp and Lucky Luke will be finishing up his YWAM school in Col. Springs and getting a ride with a friend on his way to IL or IN. We're right on the way. He had a flight already to fly home, but then he would miss his graduation, so he decided to do the graduation thing.

Today I'm cleaning the house - it will look better. I finished the rec room and bath down there - mostly have the living room cleaned up - just have to dust and vacuum; then tidy the kitchen and dust and vacuum the family room.

I really enjoyed working at the thrift store Tues. and Wed. sitting and cleaning up housewares - enjoyed taking with the women there - it's like a little beehive - everyone has a job to do and they buzz around working - very organized. They do hire about 9 people, but whether I'm to work there in the future is yet to be seen. I'm sure I'd enjoy it and the $ too. But they said the board of directors want to change it to only volunteers work there; I don't see how that would work - quality would definitely be poor - would be like some of these other unorganized dirty places I've seen.

Well, must read a few blogs of people then get on with cleaning. I even sent my niece a b-day card today!

Just for fun, me & my husband about who knows how many years ago - at least maybe 15???

Wise Words from Marmee

Posted By Kim Wolf<>< in Of Interest...

"I want my daughters to be beautiful, accomplished, & good; to be admired, loved, & respected; to have a happy youth, to be well & wisely married, & to lead useful, pleasant lives, w/as little care & sorrow to try them as God sees fit to send.  To be loved & chosen by a good man is the best & sweetest thing which can happen to a woman; & I sincerely hope my girls may know this beautiful experience.  It is natural to think of it, Meg; right to hope & wait for it, & wise to prepare for it; so that, when the happy time comes, you may feel ready for the duties & worthy of the joy.  My dear girls, I am ambitious for you, but not to have you make a dash in the world, -- marry rich men merely because they are rich, or have splendid houses, which are not homes because love is wanting.  Money is a needful & precious thing, -- &, when well used, a noble thing, -- but I never want you to think it is the 1st or only prize to strive for.  I'd rather see you poor men's wives, if you were happy, beloved, contented, then queens on thrones, w/o self-respect & peace...

"...better be happy old maids than unhappy wives, or unmaidenly girls, running about to find husbands," said Mrs. March decidedly.  "Don't be troubled, Meg; poverty seldom daunts a sincere lover.  Some of the best & most honored women I know were poor girls, but so love-worthy that they were not allowed to be old maids.  Leave these things to time; make this home happy, so that you may be fit for homes of your own, if they are offered you, & contented here if they are not.  One thing remember, my girls:  mother is always ready to be your confidant, father to be your friend; & both of us trust & hope that our daughters, whether married or single, will be the pride & comfort of our lives."

~~Marmee -- from "Little Women" ch. 9.

new template - new day

Posted By Jill

I fiddle faddled with my template last night until too late, then I couldn't sleep - I'd better keep with my rule to turn off the computer by 9:00 p.m.! Today soon I'll be leaving to work at the thrift store. I didn't have time for my Bible study because I watered outside then came in and got on the computer - I need to keep with my rule not to turn on the computer until noon. It can certainly overpower everything else!

A high school classmate is trying to get all 23 (or less - some passed away) of our class of '69 to share their lives. One guy would like to have a 50th reunion - in 10 years that just may happen if we start now.   Our class was rather lopsided with about 7 boys and 16 girls. Oh well, that's the way the ball bounces. better get going

My cousin's daughter took this picture when we were driving around during family reunion looking at old family places.  She's a good photographer, maybe because of natural ability - plus she has a degree in graphic design.

Us old ???

Posted By m j in Home

Janet and Mya went home today, .  But while Janet was here we had some fun shopping.   We went bra shopping and clothes shopping. The best part was no kids!!!  Just us two.  It was so fun and nice.

We had one lady laughing so hard she had tears running down her face.  It was because Janet was telling her how much we have in common.  We are born 6 weeks apart, Janet is the older one.  Our atm pin numbers are the same( we did not set it up that way). Janet broke her leg 12-27-93, I broke my leg 12-27-07, the same leg, the same way(slipped walking), same surgery , but my leg has more hardware. There are so many other things that are the same too.

So anyway, we are out shopping Janet is looking at some shirts and I said no those look like something grandmas would wear.  Janet says you are a grandma!!!! Thanks Jan, I did not feel like one until she said that!!!!  It was then out shopping we both saw that we are getting older and saw our age.  We are going to be 40 years old this fall.   Where did the time go??  The past 25 years just flew by and we got older.

Then Janet made a few good points. 1. is we survived with out cell phones, the kids just don't believe that.   2. is we lived with out texting!! , if we had it back then we would have to learn how to spell better.  3. is that we lived with out computers to help us with our school work, there was no spell check , there was the "look it up in the dictionary", if we knew how to spell it we would not need to look up.

Blessings Mj

today - a new week

Posted By Jill

Today - a brand new week - took my dear daughter to camp (actually the church where they met to go to camp ). Now I have all day to do whatever I like - which is laundry, organize bookshelves, fix food, clean, etc. etc. On way home I dropped some things off at a thrift store and went in to shop. I got 2 of those necklace trees which I've been wanting for a while, also I got 2 of the heavy things you put on the floor in front of an outside door to keep the cold out. They are like little cows with a ringing bell and new. One will be for a wedding present for my niece who will be tying the knot in Aug. 8. She's only 19 but I'm convinced totally it's perfect for her.

This picture is Wengen, Switzerland - I found it because my cousin's name is Wenger and I think it came from this little village in Switzerland.

Sewing Diapers

Posted By KimMC in The Sewing Room

This is one of the diapers I've been sewing.  It's for dd1, its from the FattyCake pattern.  I love it!  The outside is an upcycled shirt, the hidden and inner layers are sherpa.  Then there is a trifold sherpa lay in soaker.
