I know you guys down south are freezing, but WOW, we are having a freak warm-up.  It is currently 42 degrees.  We had the Chinooks last night, high winds that blow in warm air.  The wind was ferocious.  I heard the wind got up to 80 MPH in some places.  The power went out near us, even.  (Not ours, though, thank goodness!)  All that snow we had is melting away.  We're having a mini-breakup.  Weird.

Of course, all this warmth isn't going to last.  They are forecasting highs in the teens later this week.  Gotta love Alaska weather!

On Saturday, before the big warm-up, we went for a drive in the Valley.  Here are couple of pics we took.  We love the Valley.  Maybe our Little Slice of Heaven will be there instead of the mountain.  Hmmm...

How beautiful! May you receive your hearts desires [slice of heaven] for scripture says He put them there. We have snow today in KY although right now it is melting. No school. Don't have any in school but I know many who are happy at home today. Have a blessed 2008. *U* rilda

From reading your blog I think that you would LOVE living in the Valley. It has so much of what you love. You can get a house with some land (for those chickens and goats). You would have great access to fresh organic produce (during the summer :) ) It has a very different feel out there. I know quite a few people who love it out there.
