Our Little Slice of Heaven

Being a Granola Girl can make a big difference!

I used to be a Microwave Momma.  The faster and easier, the better.  I once laughed at people who ground their own grain to make bread.  Canned veggies all the way, etc.  I know I've covered this before, but it is important to bring this back to your attention.

When I was a Microwave Momma, I got my cholesterol checked.  It was above 200.  It wasn't *too* far over 200, and I wasn't concerned.

A couple of years ago, I made the change to official Granola Girl.  I cook from scratch as much as possible.  I haven't bought a canned veggie in over a year.  I raised and processed our own chickens (before we moved to Alaska and into the city). I make jams and jellies. I even, *gasp*, grind my own grain to make bread.

I still don't exercise much.  In fact, I exercise less than I did back then.

On Friday I had my cholesterol checked again.  I was simply floored to hear that my total cholesterol is now 174!

There have been some changes back toward a Microwave Momma lifestyle since MIL moved in.  This report from the doc has encouraged me to hang as tightly to my Granola Girl ways as I can.

I felt like this way was better for my family, and now I have proof!
