Our Little Slice of Heaven

still here

I know, I know.  Its been way too long since I blogged.  I'm sorry.   It is hard to get adjusted to our new schedule.

The weather has just been perfect here.  Bright beautiful sunshine and temps in the 60s, if I'm not mistaken.  The crew is outside more than inside these days.  Saturday morning Hubby and I took the dog and walked around the Downtown Market.  Oh, that was so fun!  There are zillions of vendors that sell everything you can imagine.  Later in the summer, the fresh veggies with be there.  We can't wait for that!  But for now, just the "festival" atmosphere makes it worth the crowd.  (Not to mention it is pretty good exercise...)  After the Market, I had to go straight to work and everytime I turned my head I smelled funnel cake.  The smell of the Market had permeated my hair.

This week is S's bday.  He will 12, finally.  He's only been saying he's 12 for the past 6 months.  Silly boy!

We wound up not getting a garden plot.  Hubby pointed out that really don't have time to take care of one.  So we'll just have to rely on the Market for our fresh veggies.  I'm a little bummed, but that's ok.  I'm not a good gardener anyway.

I guess that is all in our neck of the woods...or city, rather.  I'm looking forward to having time to drive out to the inlet and watch for the whales. I've heard that they are back and I'm anxious to see some.  My mom tells me that it is rare to see them.  But I want to look anyway.  Then we have to hike up Baldy, the mountain that is near my parent's house.  Oh, and then we need to take some day trips to some glaciers.  OH, I am so glad summer is finally arriving!!  There are even flowers blooming now.  Such a beautiful sight after all that snow!
