Today I bought groceries for the week and spent $50!  I haven't done that since we moved here.  Now, I have to be honest, I didn't buy for every meal for every day.  We still had breakfast foods, etc.  But for the most part, I got groceries for Mon-Thurs.   (Payday is Friday, praise God!)

Now I know that sounds ridiculous.  I used to spend that for a whole week or even 2 down south.  But here the prices are just unreal.  I am even tempted to share what I got, I'm so excited.  LOL  I took advantage of the "reduced for quick sale" section of the meat department.  I was also blessed in that a lot of the stuff I had on my list happened to be on sale.  I was tempted to buy more than I needed, there was such a good sale. But our budget is really strapped this week.  So I didn't.  I only got what we needed to make it until Friday.

I am really quite proud of myself on this.  I was a nervous wreck about not having enough.  But I kept it under budget.  Go Mom!

$50 a week is also my goal every week for my family of five. Usually I make it, but not always! It sounds like I wouldn't be able to make that budget down there. Good for you!
