Little French Homestead

• Monday 27 March 2006 - Good news

Today was a great day for me and my family. As you may know, my 8yods had a very bad accident on February 11 (I talked about it on my March 10's post).

He broke his  both knees, with plasters from ankles to the top of legs, and both wrists, the left one with a plaster from hand to shoulder (2 bones were broken), the right one with a plaster from hand to elbow (just one bone was broken). He also had a facial traumatism, with 2 jaws's fractures and one below is left eye. As you can imagine it was very serious, and we spent several days very, very anxious about our little boy

He spent one whole week in hospital, luckily I managed to stay with him all the time.

Of course it was not simple, this accident happened during winter vacations, we were 380 miles from home, 4 days after the accident we were moved to an hospital near our home by ambulance.

After, I was able to stay at home during 6 weeks (thanks to my insurance), to take care of him.

Today was the day of "release" for him, we went to hospital this morning and they took off the four plasters, it was such a relief for my poor little boy (and for me...), the orthopedic surgeon said everything is OK for him, he is recovered !! Thanks Lord !!

We just have to go back to hospital next week for an appointment with the stomatologist and the orthoptist, for the facial trauma, but I don't worry much about it, as is face seems quite normal now.

I'm so happy, the Lord answered my prayers and saved the life of my son, he won't be disabled, and everything is nearly cured...

On thursday he'll be able to go back to school, but of course with no sports( he'll go back to sport in mid-may).

That's what I wanted to share with you today, I think I'm going to sleep better this night.

By the way, I have completed my dress, I'll post a pic tomorrow

I feel for your son! I am so happy he is back in school. I am wearing this gizmo right now that turns on and sends some sort of impulse through my nerves to stop the pain .. pinched nerve in neck and in back. So I know what a bad time he must have gone through.

I like your dress. You did a good job. I am not a seamstress myself but I have tried before.

Our God is an awesome God. A God of love and healing. I'm so happy that your son is well on the way to a full and perfect recovery. The relief and thanksgiving you must be feeling. Looking forward to reading all about his future adventures that he will be having.
