We have almost finished the foundation and floor of our chicken house. It's hard to get time to work on it, but yesterday we managed to get the floor attached, and now we can work on the framing.
I have the four corner posts for the walls, and will visit the DIY store later this week to get the rest of the framing materials. I'm not sure yet how to attach the four corner posts to the floor - might need dh to help out on that one!
I'm still having a difficult time with photobucket. I don't know why it won't shrink my pictures - it keeps closing down on me everytime I try to resize my photos - so I hope you don't mind the larger size pictures. Here is my son (8) working on the foundation, and the completed floor.

I've never seen buckwheat growing before! Good for you for trying! (BTW, my bread wasn't homemade -- I haven't been able to regularly make bread for about 5 years now, but I'm starting to do it sporadically again!)
How exciting to have a chicken house! Ginny will tell you about her chickens -- they have some too (even though they live in the "city".
I'm so glad you have brambles -- wish I could come to join you to pick them!
Hi Rachel~ Ohhh cool - I love that you are building your chicken coop and taking pictures as you go right now. Sorry I'm not further ahead with mine and could give you advice. Guess it will have to be the other way around this time :o) Let us know how you end up attaching the walls to the foundation - it's little things that you have to figure out by yourself that the directions don't really tell you! Here is the link to the one I settled on: http://www.bae.lsu.edu/NR/rdonlyres/40B6E611-F79B-421E-902C-2D4FDCEBE79C/15112/6248PoultryHouse.pdf
I look forward to sharing how mine goes too! Have fun!
