A thrift shopping we will go!

If it wasn't obvious before, Abby has inherited my hearts desire...thrift shopping.  I absoutely LOVE going to flea markets, farmer's markets and thrift stores like Goodwill.

The other day she was getting the "itch."  She has also gotten taller and it shows in some of her pants.  So she does need some new ones.  Yesterday we went to Wal-Mart with my mom & she tried on a couple of pairs of blue jeans but none really seemed to fit right.  So she suggested we go to Goodwill "Because they always have good stuff!"  LOL!!!

In the past we went through a period where we only wore skirts & dresses.  I honestly don't feel convicted of this so I do wear mostly jeans now along with some longer skirts at times.  Abby, however really likes skirts & dresses best.   She says most pants just aren't comfortable.  So I think if we do or don't find anything at Goodwill, we might hit the fabric store.  I can always make her a couple of things.--It's just setting aside the time to do it.

As for the remainder of the week, I really need to do some lesson planning for homeschool.  I have material already for 2 night gowns for her & a small basket of things to mend.  So I really need to take time for that.  The chicken house is coming along but rain is in the forcast for today so we're taking the day off from that.

I also need to finish my January menu plan & go get the ingredients we will need.  My Sams membership expires sometime this month so I also need to decide if I'll keep it or not.  I do get a few things from there that is a good deal.  The spices & olive oil are good deals.  Milk is usually good too, but it's not organic.--We'll see.

Yesterday on our shopping trip my mom bought me 2 pairs of jeans & a nice top.  Now I just need some boots to go along with them.  I may venture into that store today also.  My one foot has been hurting & I think I really need a good pair of shoes & almost everyone I've talked to say that I will love the boots once I get them wore-in.  --Never in my past life did I ever think I'd be wanting cowboy boots! LOL (I like the roper/fat baby type so there not the pointy toes but they are still boots)

Well, I suppose I should finish up my coffee & get around.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

2009-Jan-3 - Happy New Year!!

Oh I LOVE thrift shopping! Our winters here in Central NY are pretty cold, LONG and sometimes deep with snow. Last year I was looking for some boots with good, WARM, lining. I looked on the internet and found Uggs were very warm. Well, there's NO WAY I'd pay that much for boots. Would you believe I found a pair of used ones on ebay and bought them for 25 dollars..INCLUDES shipping.

You can find some great deals!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
