update on our land

Sorry it has taking me so long to put in an entry. I will be updating often now we are making major progress. We went to our land this weekend and mowed out a driveway and where our cabin is to be. We also have started a tree project. We have 100's of white pine trees on our property and do not want to cut them down. We have started transplanting them along our property line as privacy barrier. We hope to begin construction on the cabin very soon as the finances fall into place. We are waiting on the health inspector to come out and let us know where we can place our septic tank.  I will now post some pictures.

This is where our driveway will be.

This is the spot we are going to build our cabin

Inagural post - progress toward agarianism

Well, we are on our way. Years ago my husband and I made a decsion that we were going to live a more agarian lifestyle. Today we took that first step.

Today, my husband and I purchased a small piece of 5 and a ½ acre farmland in and undisclosed location in Tennessee (see pics.). It is about a ¼ of a mile off the banks of the TN river. It has absolutely no restrictions whatsoever and the taxes are only 6 dollars an acre. The price was only $15,000. This was surprising to me since over here in Nashville (Davidson Co. and Sumner Co.) where we live now it is about $15,000 an acre. We were able to purchase this property by liquidating nearly everything including furniture (LoL!!). We hope to have it paid off in the next year; Lord willing.

We will keep you posted of our progress - Holly
