Menu Plan Monday (on Tuesday)

Lance's dad is currently in the hospital and it looks as if the cancer has moved into his brain and other organs.  He was scheduled for an MRI yesterday, so we should know more about that today.  Please pray for him and the family.  :(

*********************************************************************

I haven't been so great about cooking in the last few days.  Things have come up and we just haven't been home much, and if we have been home, we've been working on our tax receipts for the upcoming audit.  Poor excuses, but it's the truth.

So now I'm back at it.  Really.  Truly.  I am going to cook!  LOL

Monday:  um, Monday is done so we won't talk about that.  LOL

Tuesday:  Spaghetti

Wednesday:  Beef Stroganoff - crockpot

Thursday:  Leftovers

Friday:  BBQ Chicken - baked potato - asparagus

Saturday:  Roast - potatoes - carrots - celery

Sunday:  Leftovers or Supper at relatives

*************************************************************

Also in the kitchen:

Boiled chicken for tacos (for the girls)

*That's really all the extras I'm going to plan.  I may do other things like cookies and bread, but it's a really busy week, so we'll have to see how things go.

************************************************************

Weekly plans:

Tuesday:  Lauren will visit my parents again as we to go see our tax guy.  He is going to go over our paperwork and make sure we have everything we need for the audit.  Then we have to call HR Block and have them set up the appt with the audittor (sp).  We bought the audit guarantee in 2006, but not in 2005, so I'm not sure if we can pay them to represent us for 2005 or not.  We plan to pay somebody to represent us rather than go ourselves, so it would make sense if the same person represented us both years we are being auditted for.

Wednesday:  Lauren will visit my parents AGAIN as I volunteer at Lilli's school and Lilli starts T-ball!  6-7:30PM.

We also have to make sure HR Block calls the audit person today, as contact on our behalf has to be made by Thursday.

Thursday:  Lilli's field trip to Binder Park Zoo.  Lauren will visit my parents AGAIN (yes, almost everyday this week!) as I am signed up to attend the zoo trip with Lilli.

No plans in the evening other than picking Lauren up.

Friday:  Oh my goodness, I think it's an open day!  WOOHOO!  I'm sure it won't last.  LOL

I do have to call this week and set up Lauren's VCUG for June.  It's a test to check her kidney reflux.  We pray that it's all healed now and that she can FINALLY go off the antibiotic she's been on daily for the last year.

Saturday:  Lance is working 10 hours.  Lilli has T-ball practice from 1-2PM.

Sunday:  Lance is working 10 hours.

******************************************************************

Looking ahead to next week (5/19-5/25):

Monday:  Lilli has her snack and sharing day.  She wants to take her favorite chick for show-and-tell.  I thought she'd want to take our new baby goat, but she says she wants to take speedy (this teeny-tiny baby banty chick).  LOL

Monday Lilli has her recital pictures taken for gymnastics at 4:45.  She has to be in full costume and make-up with her hair done for the pictures.  She did get her costume this week and it's much cuter in person than the pictures showed.

Monday is also my knitting class from 6-8PM.  I think I will have time to attend after Lilli's pictures, I might be just a bit late.  I really enjoyed the last knitting class and getting to know the ladies there.

Tuesday:  Lilli has her Kindergarten Circus with performances at 9:30AM and 1PM.  It's a little program that all the Kindergarten classes and young-5s/preschoolers put on.  Lilli is an 'amazing acrobat' and she gets to do cartwheels and gymnastics, so it fits her well :)

Wednesday:  Lauren will visit my parents as I volunteer at Lilli's school.

Thursday:  An open day ??  WOOHOO!

Memorial Day Weekend:

I think Lance is working, but I'm not sure if it's all 3 days or not.

Friday Lilli's recital tickets go on sale from 5:30-7:30PM.  I'm not sure if I'll make the trip over there or not.  I can buy them on Monday but the seats might not be as good.  We'll just have to see.

Lilli has T-ball practice from 1-2PM on Saturday, unless they cancel because of the holiday weekend.

Otherwise we are pretty open for the holiday weekend.

*******************************************************************

We are down to just 17 more days left of school.  18 counting today.  LOL  June 6th is the last day, but the last few days look like this:

June 3 is a picnic in the local park

June 4 is track-and-field day

June 5 is a half-day

June 6th is a half-day

************************************************************

OH!  Lilli and I went to pick up 10 new laying hens yesterday!  The lady I bought my goats from had them and they are an heirloom breed (brown rose-comb leghorns).  They are known for foraging for themselves and being an overall hardy bird.  They kept flying out of their pen and getting into her garden so she finally got frustrated and caged them up.  She sold them to me for $1 each.  LOL.  WOOHOO.  They are all good egg-layers and are just a year old.  :)

It was so funny picking them up.  The lady wasn't home and I couldn't figure out how to open their chicken tractor (cage).  So I lifted it up and had Lilli climb under it to get inside with the chickens.  Then she just caught them one-by-one and handed them to me.  She's a great chicken wrangler!  LOL.  She had fun, me, well not so much.  One of them got away from us and probably headed straight for the lady's garden.  LOL.  It was my fault it got away, Lilli handed it to me and when I put it in the cage it bolted before I could shut the door.

I'm happy with my new hens though.  It's quite different going from 2 chickens to 12 chickens.  We are keeping them locked up for about a week while they adjust to their new home.  Then we'll let them out to free-range each morning and lock them up at night (assuming they go back into the coop to roost).

I'll post pictures sometime in the next week or so, when things get less crazy around here.

You are so fortunate to have family who can watch the munchkin so you can get stuff accomplished. I am soooo envious!! Can they move here??

Oh I hope your FIL is not in pain and that, if the diagnosis is a bad one, that his passing is peaceful. Praying for your family.

On a brighter note...I enjoyed your chicken story.

Blessings from Ohio, Kim Wolf<><
